Yu watched as his student's combination incinerated the targets. Nothing unexpected, but he always like the nature of fire. So chaotic, full of energy, strength, indicative of life an death. It formed nice dichotomies and symbols.

But now wasn't the time to muse. His student then proceeded with the explanation.

"Hm. One question. You said that a wind technique could easily push this technique back to you. What rank would that technique at least need to be? That is not a disadvantage; that is a counter. Please make that distinct, ok? Ok."

"Furthermore, in future jutsus, I want you to tell me if the jutsu is something you can simple use without a second thought, or if you need to maintain it by focusing your chakra. Knowing that distinction will save you in battle; the best way to win is to use techniques CORRECTLY."

"Once you've answered that, let's move on."

"Our next jutsu requires you perform the four handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger. Then, use a ninja wire to throw and wrap around your enemy. Once that's done, release fire from your mouth in a breath along the cord. It will travel along the cord and assault your enemy. Basically, it's like a long fuse that will incinerate whoever your victim is."

Okay! I gather superheated Katon chakra and I manipulate it by performing the Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger handseals in conjunction. I then take out a ninja wire to throw and wrap around the target. I then release fire from my mouth which travels along the horizontal axis of the cord, in a straight line, as it incinerates your shadow clone.

Advantages:
1)If the ninja wire is wrapped around the target completely, then the user can burn a lot of body parts of the target.
2)If the target is trapped beforehand(ex: Earth Flow Wave) then this technique is handy to perform and pretty effective too, since the target can't move.
3)Reaches upto mid-range, so the user doesn't need to be in close proximity to the target.
4)A line of enemies can be targeted with a single attack, so quite useful.

Disadvantages:
1)Requires 4 handseals to perform.
2)The ninja wire needs to be wrapped beforehand, and even if the enemy is caught in the wire, the technique takes time to reach the target so its quite easy to evade.
3)As before, a quite strong wind technique would simply redirect the fire back onto the user.

This jutsu needs the user to maintain the focus on the wire and no focus for the flames, I presume, as it's a projectile technique. Once the flames are emitted, they travel on their own on the horizontal path.

Continuous! Ah, that was the key word, so the breath needs to be maintained. *notes*

Alright. I gather chakra and superheat it to extreme levels, thus forming magnificent Katon chakra. I then nature manipulate it to fire and then perform the Tiger handseal which manipulates my chakra. Next, I exhale fire from my mouth, but just as I do it, I shape manipulate it to form a bullet made up of fire. I exhale several of them together, at the target.

As I just do it, I quickly gather Fuuton chakra and I channel it towards my hands. I then swing my hands in a hard manner, as the motion produces wind. Just as the wind is released, I shape manipulate it to form a wave of wind, which combines with the fire bullets, as it pushes them forward, increasing it's speed as the speedy fire bullets incinerate the target.

  • When used with Wind combos, it can be quite useful, as the speed of the wind, accelerates the motion of the fire bullets.
  • As you mentioned, several bullets can be launched which can overpower a Fire stream.
  • Multiple targets can be struck.
Disadvantages:
  • Can be defended quite easily with an Earth Wall.
  • Easy to counter when not used in conjunction with Earth Release.

I'm only looking for important, well-thought out points. And I don't require you to make it like a template, either. But that's your call ^^)

Yu put up a bunch of targets in an alternating pattern, behind rocks, out in the open, and the like. They were all short range from his student; about 5 in total. The first target was behind a large rock. The second one was hanging from a branch on a tree. The third one was laying on the nearby lake. The fourth was behind his student, at his blind spot. The fifth was strapped onto Yu's head, much like how an apple would rest on someone's head, ready for an archer to hit off.

"Perform this technique, and make one fireball hit each target. They're placed in such a way that you'll need to focus your attention on how and where you direct the fireballs. As for the one on top of my head, don't blow my face off, ok? Thanks." he said, chuckling.

I gather raw chakra and superheat it converting it into Katon chakra. I then convert it to Fire chakra by nature manipulating it and perform the Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger handseals in conjunction manipulating my built up chakra. Just as I breathe fire, I then shape manipulate it to divide the fire into several small fireballs which are launched in different directions. I then focus my chakra to control the direction of the fireballs as they successfully hit the various targets incinerating them.

Advantages:
1) The fireballs are sent in an unpredictable manner, due to which the opponent is perplexed on how to avoid them.
2) The user can also control the direction of the fireballs by focusing his chakra on them.
3) This can be used as a great distraction technique.

Disadvantages:
1) Requires 6 handseals to perform, which takes time.
2) The user needs to maintain focus over his chakra if he wants to control the direction of the fireballs.

Sorry for the bland reply, I have to travel to DC and other places now, probably I won't be able to reply for the next 10-11 days and I wanted to reply as quick as possible. xD

Not bad. Yu was impressed with his student's chakra control. His hair was slightly singed from the target that was on his head, but that didn't really matter.

"A pity it's a short ranged technique. I would use it a lot more often were it at least mid ranged. Distraction wise, the unpredictable nature of the flames will cause your opponent to focus on them. That gives you an opportunity to launch a follow up attack from their blind spot!"

"Now, our next jutsu is cool. Release your molded fire chakra in a flame at your opponent. I typically like to aim this technique at their feet. The flames will wrap around your opponent, and if you're successful, you'll be able to burn them inside the flames. Great for trapping or immobilizing an opponent."

I gather my physical and spiritual energy and mold these energies together, thereby molding raw chakra. I then heat my raw chakra to extreme levels, making it as hot as possible and form Katon chakra. Next, I nature manipulate my Katon based chakra into Fire chakra and spew Fire in form of flames from my mouth. But, just as the flames leave my mouth, I shape manipulate them to give them a spiral shape, as they leave my body and engulf the opponent around his feet burning him.

Advantages:
- Requires no handseals to perform.
- The flames leave the body fast enough and engulf the opponent quickly
- The spiralling nature of the flames blocks the opponent's view of the user, as well as traps and immobilizes him.

Disadvantages:
- The flames have a mid range limitation
- It blocks the opponent's view of the user as well as the vice versa, so it's a double edged sword.
- It can be easily evaded by blowing Wind on the ground forcefully, and the push of the wind downwards, lifts the user upwards, hence preventing him from getting burnt.

I gather my physical and spiritual energies and mold them together, thereby creating raw chakra. I then superheat my chakra, such that I feel my chakra nature changing into one of a hot one, as Katon chakra is successfully formed. As I finish that, I jump into mid-air. And as I do that, I channel my chakra into my lungs, performing nature manipulation on it to create Fire, and as I release it from my mouth, I perform shape manipulation on it to release several small fire shots which 'rain' down upon my opponent, thereby burning him on several different parts of his body.

Advantages:
Well, this one requires no handseals to perform and is quite fast. Also, the opponent has to counter the fire from mid-air, so it's quite difficult for him to counter it quickly, basically due to the speed of the fireballs increasing due to the Earth's gravitational pull. Also, several small shots are released, so the opponent is forced to use a large water stream or such, thereby more chakra is consumed, plus more force is required to perform the water attack, as the opponent has to act against the Earth's gravitational pull to defend from the attack. Another advantage is that the tech goes up to mid-range, so it's pretty useful.

Disadvantages:
Due to the user jumping in air, he's vulnerable to attacks easily, as to defend he can't form Earth walls or armors in mid-air. Also the small fireballs together only constitute C-Rank, so they aren't that powerful, a B-Rank Katon technique covering a wide area could easily overpower the small fireballs.

Creative uses:
Well, I would use a C or B rank wind technique to feed the flames and increase their range, speed and intensity. Also, I would trap the opponent beforehand in a genjutsu or use Earth Flow wave to bind him, and then use this technique as a quick attack to burn him on several parts of his body.

Counters:
Countering is not that hard. Basically, I would use a B-Rank fire stream against the fireballs, redirecting it at the opponent, i.e. the result would be, my attack+the opponent's fireballs=greater range and intensity of fire redirected at the opponent, difficult for him to dodge it mid-air.

Simple and effective. No handseals required, plus the fire is present in the form of a stream, so it covers a wide range as well as carries the fireballs away with it, being a B-ranked tech.

And, I seriously have no idea how it could be used defensively.


I mold chakra in my body, as it rushes through the 361 points of my body, desperately trying to escape it. After I build up enough chakra, I heat it to very intense and extreme levels, thereby altering the nature of my chakra to Fire nature, hence forming Katon chakra. I then channel my Katon chakra into my lungs towards my mouth, and just as I release my chakra, I nature manipulate it to form fire and give it shape manipulation, compressing it into a small ball of fire, which is very bright. The small fireball hits the opponent quickly as he's in short range from me.

Advantages:
Similar to the previous technique, it requires no handseals to perform, so it's quite fast. Also, it's quite impressive, as it extends upto long range. Pretty good when used in short range, as the fireball quickly travels towards the opponent.

Disadvantages:
Although it extends upto long range, it takes time to travel to the opponent, obviously as more distance has to be covered. Also, it's a single fireball, so it can easily be extinguished with the same rank Suiton technique, without any problem. Also, the size of the ball is pretty small, so it's not useful as a surprise attack.

Creative uses:
Well, I would always use this in short range. As before, I would trap the target beforehand in a genjutsu or use Earth flow wave to bind his legs, restricting his movements. This technique doesn't deal much damage, so I would only use it in NW, to torture the target a bit, and then retrieve info from him.

Counters:
There are so many counters to it. One can use Suiton, Katon or Fuuton to easily counter this technique.

I would use this technique in short range. Quick and easy to perform. Also, it's a grander version of the Goukyauu. It easily overwhelms the small fireballs and continues towards the target with additional power, i.e. the target's fireball+my technique=greater intensity and damage as earlier.

Souji then proceeded to mold Katon chakra in his hands. Applying shape and nature manipulation, he formed what looked like a small, compressed fireball in his left hand. It was about the size of a baseball. Then, with a good arm, he threw it at a nearby tree at mid range, and upon impact, the fireball exploded, causing a good amount of burn and breaking damage to the tree.

"This one is one of my favorite Fire techniques. Try it out. The explosions are powerful enough to hurt you if you're too close, so be careful."

Anyways, I gather my physical and spiritual energies together and mold un-altered chakra. After that, I superheat my chakra, as it alters the nature of my chakra to one of a hot one, Katon chakra. I then, perform the Ram → Horse → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger handseals in conjunction and channel this chakra into my lungs, towards my mouth, wherein, I elementally recompose my chakra to form Fire and as I just exhale the flames, I spatially recompose it, forming a thin jet of flames which travel pretty quickly towards the opponent, engufling a wide area around him, melting the ground along with it and slowly turning him into ash.

Advantages:
This jutsu covers a pretty wide area and extends upto long range, which is pretty impressive. Also, it has such heat that it can melt the ground as well as turn the opponent into ash, i.e. this helps in altering the terrain as well as finishing off the opponent. Though the prep takes time, the jutsu once breathed out travels fast as a jet of flames. This is best used with multiple shadow clones, covering a very large area, as well as finishing off several opponents.

Disadvantages:
Pretty obvious. Requires 7 handseals to perform the jutsu. Also, this technique is a stream type, that is the user has to maintain focus over the chakra to let the flames cover some area. If the focus is lost, then I guess, the flames won't be covering a large area for a good amount of time.

Creative Uses:
Well, I would personally use it after trapping the opponent beforehand, not letting him move as the jutsu requires 7 handseals. Also, a good combination would be to use a B-Ranked Wind technique without handseals after this to 'push' the flames even more faster than the opponent, and well, pretty obviously as Wind feeds Fire, the flames would burn with greater intensity and cover even a larger area.

Counters:
Well, I would personally use a quick Suiton technique that would cover a wide area, consuming the flames along with it and continue toward the opponent. A quick A-Ranked fireball would work as well, pushing the flames along with it and increasing in intensity.

After that, I elementally recombine my chakra to form Fire and spatially recompose my chakra to form a compressed fireball, which I 'throw' towards a tree, and upon contact, it explodes.

Advantages:

The user can form multiple fireballs in his hands, striking several targets or use it to target several points on a single opponent's body, especially vital organs, which can kill him immediately. Also, it requires no handseals to perform, so the speed of it is quite fast.

Disadvantages:
If the user gets too close to his own attack, then it is fatal to himself too. Also, this attack doesn't set the opponent on fire, it only explodes. Can be only used in mid-range, so not useful for long and short ranged battles.

Creative Uses:
Well, this is like a one-hit KO, if the opponent gets in contact with the shots, he's finished. As earlier, this best works when the opponent is trapped beforehand, like in a genjutsu or by restricting his movements. Best followed up by a Wind attack, as the Wind pushes the fireball faster towards the opponent.

Counters:
Well, an A-Ranked Earth wall would work very good against the exploding fireballs, as it's quite sturdy. A-Ranked Wind Techniques/B-A Rank Water techniques would consume the fireballs and continue toward the opponent. Things like multiple mudshot techs are very useful for counters too, as the Earth coated mud-balls push the fireballs away from the user himself and continue toward the opponent, as well as the fireballs would also hit the opponent, forcing the opponent to counter the mudshots as well as the exploding fireballs.

Alright. I gather my physical and spiritual energies together, thereby creating chakra in my body. The chakra nature is altered by me by heating it to very extreme levels, thus forming chakra with a specific nature - Katon chakra. I channel this chakra into my lungs, inhaling a good amount of air and before exhaling, I elementally recompose my Katon chakra into Fire, exhaling it and spatially recompose it to expand it, forming a massive Fireball. This fireball is stronger than the Gokyaku, however, it's shorter.

Defensively, it could be used to cancel a same ranked Fire technique or can be shaped into a wall protecting against C-ranked water techniques.

Advantages: Pretty good tech. It requires no formation of handseals, thus the prep time is pretty quick. Also, the speed of the fireball is really fast. It's a variation of the Gokyaku, however, it's more intense and stronger, and carries greater heat to it. This is a projectile tech, so the user doesn't need to focus on the technique.

Disadvantages: Extends upto only short range, after which it dies down. Useless for mid and long range fights, as most fights start in mid-range.

Creative Uses: Well, as it's a short ranged jutsu, the best thing would be to trap the opponent in an illusion or block his vision with something like Lightning Flash Pillar and then attack him with this technique. Nothing really special about this tech.

Counters:As earlier, B-A Rank short ranged water techs work easily, consuming the fire and continuing weakened. Personally, however, I didn't find any good water tech ( without water source or handseals), which was also short ranged, so I would go with Fire, particularly this:

Kneading chakra, I heat it to super massive levels, thus forming Katon chakra, which I channel to my lungs. I then weave the Horse → Tiger handseals in conjunction which manipulates my chakra. After that, I inhale a good amount of air, and I elementally recompose my Katon chakra into Fire, which I exhale from my mouth, spatially recomposing it to form a big ball of fire, which I direct at one of the dummies, carrying it away and exploding on impact.

Advantages: As you mentioned, it extends to long range, which is pretty beautiful. Once more, it's a projectile technique, meaning the user doesn't need to focus on it to maintain it. Also works in short range, meaning it's pretty quick and can be used as a great attack. Also, it can carry away mid-sized summons, as well as it explodes, which is pretty impressive.

Disadvantages: Well, I would say it doesn't work in mid-range, so that's one of the disadvantages. Other than that, I really don't think it has any other disadvantages.

Creative Uses: Simple. Force the opponent to counter any technique, while forming a shadow clone and make him use this from the other side. Also, trapping him in mist would be pretty good, so that he doesn't have the reaction time to counter the big Fireball in time. Overall, I think a Wind Jutsu would augment this, increasing it's speed, especially long range.

Counters: Hmm, this is quite interesting. I would use an A-Rank Wind jutsu to push the Fireball back as well as cause damage to the opponent, obviously it would be weakened, but well.

Personally, this is pretty excellent. Requires one handseal and carries the Fireball back, as well as goes on ahead toward the opponent, weakened. Range is pretty sexy too, useful in all ranges.

(The "slash" in a jutsu's description is synonymous with a "dash". Sometimes, the descriptions can be a little tough to interpret. But the second jutsu should be able to go any range.)

Asuma heard the instructions his senpai said. "Simple enough, eh?", he thought to himself, as he started molding chakra and heated it to extreme levels, as he felt his chakra getting 'hot' and 'dense'. Thereby, a new chakra nature - Fire natured chakra was formed. He gathered this Fire-natured chakra in good amount and jumped in mid-air. As he just jumped, he elementally recomposed his Fire chakra into actual Fire, as he exhaled it from his mouth. However, just as he exhaled, he spatially recomposed the said Fire into several giant bullets of Fire which rained down like meteors upon the dummy target, as it erupted into a geyser of flames upon contact. "Magnificent", he wondered, as he saw in awe, the target being consumed by the brilliant geyser of flames.

Advantages:
Nice tech. Requires no weaving of handseals and is quite fast in it's performance. Requires one to be in mid-air to perform, so it's like those jutsus you can perform when you're forced to evade a tech by taking flight. Also, there are three giant bullets of fire, which have a very impressive range, both horizontally and vertically, also they cover a large area when they erupt into a geyser. Forces the opponent to counter with a massive Water jutsu or a massive Fire jutsu. Also, the fire bullets rain down on the target, meaning the target has less chance to evade them as they spawn a massive range, as well as the downward gravitational force increases their speed as well as intensity, same like a meteor which starts burning when it enters the Earth surface and descends down with super tremendous speed.

Disadvantages:
As one goes in mid-air, he's easily vulnerable to attacks from below, and can be attacked before finishing the jutsu. Also, it's quite rare to find an enemy that lets you go into mid-air. Another disadvantage is that, the opponent can use a very powerful Fire tech to redirect the flames back at the user, which would be pretty tough to evade.

Creative Uses:
I would use a feint imo. I would first use my shadow clone to blind the opponent using dust or Lightning Illusion, and then jump in mid-air and burn him while he's busy clearing off the dust. Kirigakure No Jutsu would work too here. Opponent blinded in Mist, while the fire bullets emerge suddenly! Boom!

Counters:
A-Rank Water which would cover a large area would work. Not choosing Fire, since I didn't find one which covered a massive area..

"Ah, a tech I used against the scythe guy, Hidan", Asuma said to himself, as he readied himself. He repeated the same process of kneading chakra, and superheated his chakra, altering it's nature to Fire and weaved 4 handseals. As he did that, he channeled this chakra towards his lungs, and converted his chakra into superheated ash, instead of Fire, exhaling the ash from his mouth. The exhaled ash served as a smoke screen, blinding the target. Once the ash was spewed, he clicked his teeth once, as a massive explosion occured, and the ash turned into a massive firestorm, engulfing the target and destroying his body beyond recognition.

Advantages:
The range is pretty good imo and the ash can cause 3rd degree burns which is pretty impressive. It can render opponents unable to use any jutsu as they have to deal with the burns. Also, the ash serves as a smoke screen and hinders vision. Plus, the massive explosion on the confused target is the best thing about this jutsu. One can't survive after being caught in the tech.

Disadvantages:
The technique takes a little time to perform, as well as once the ash is blown, the opponent can evade it using a simple Wind jutsu to render himself mid-air, or a powerful Wind jutsu to redirect the ash at the user which serves as a solid counter. Other than that, I can't find any, this tech is pretty solid.

Creative Uses:
Feint once more. Make the opponent fight a shadow clone, while I exhale the ash from my mouth quickly and make it explode. One must be careful not to use it when the Wind speed is high, as it would be a disadvantage to the user himself.
I would use this in battle after putting him in a genjutsu. Just as he releases himself/or is still caught in the gen, I would use this to inflict atleast burns to him, and him escaping the explosion isn't a big deal as the burns are already inflicted.

Counters:
A Rank Wind would suffice well, redirecting the ash at the opponent himself. Quite useful.

I gather my pre-formed Fire natured chakra and channel it to my lungs, performing a single handseal, after which I elementally recompose my chakra to form actual Fire, and just as I exhale it, I spatially recompose it to fire several dragon shaped fireballs, which I direct at the heavens. The heat of the fireballs and the intensity, prepares storm clouds for me, so as to use Kirin to finish off the opponent with destructive force and power.

Advantages:
One of the most flashy techs. Requires only one handseal, so is quite fast in it's performance. It basically has two uses, one to burn the opponent, and it does quite some damage, as several fireballs are emitted, which spawn a massive horizontal range, making it difficult to avoid in short range. The other use, being the obvious one, for Kirin. The fireballs are so hot that they can alter local weather conditions, helping the user to prepare for one of the most flashy jutsus. The range is pretty impressive too, as can be formed in long range as well. Anyone caught in it can be potentially reduced to ashes.

Disadvantages:
They can't be used in mid-ranged battles, as well as the fireballs sent in different directions are easily avoidable by the opponent. A simple Earth Wall can block the fireballs.

Creative Uses:
Simple. I would use this as a pre-requisite for Kirin. Also, I would fire them at the opponent once he's trapped, as the technique burns the opponent so badly that his body is converted into ashes.

I take out several shuriken out of my pouch and prepare them. I then gather Fire natured chakra and infuse the shurikens with them, elementally recomposing my chakra into Fire, which sets the shurikens on Fire, as I fling several of them at the logs covering a large range. The massive shurikens hit the logs and burn them, as the flames keep on burning.

Advantages:
This requires no weaving of handsigns and is quite fast in it's performance. The fast moving shurikens immediately set the target on Fire, as well the flames keep on burning, so it's quite a hassle for the opponent to deal with. Due to the unpredictable movement of the shurikens, they're quite hard to counter. Also, it extends till mid-range, so a nice technique.

Disdavantages:
Well, the shurikens extend until mid-range after which their speed reduces and they lose momentum. They are very easily countered, by an A-Ranked Wind Jutsu, hell even B-Rank would work, but to blow away the Shurikens as well as the Fire, an A-Rank would be super strong.

Creative Uses/Strengths:
Well, as canonically done, I would use it once I'm mid-air, as they're more difficult to counter, because of the added downward gravitational force and increased speed, plus more number of them are quite difficult to evade from the top.

Counters:

As I mentioned, an A-Rank Wind Jutsu would not only blow away the shurikens, but continue on with a massive force, thus forcing the opponent to counter it/retreat.

I gather previously formed Fire based chakra and weave the Tiger handseal, effectively manipulating my chakra, releasing it into the atmosphere around me, as I elementally recompose my chakra to form Fire, and spatially recompose it to form several ghost-like flame resembling heads with horns and yellow eyes, which look exactly like the Japanese Oni demons. I direct the fire demons at the opponent, who's long range from me, about 20m, as the flame heads burn him at the same time and inflict severe burns.

Advantages:
Quite fast in it's performance. It requires only a single handseal to perform and the range is impressive too. The flame heads extend upto long range which is pretty nice. Also, as seen in the movie, a lot of these are created, thus greater number= greater range and more intensity of damage.

Disadvantages:
The user needs to maintain focus over the technique to make the demonic flaming projectiles hit the target, due to which he's vulnerable to attacks from the other sides. Also, when used in long range, it gives enough time for the opponent to come up with a counter or escape the technique.

Creative Uses:
Well, I would use this as a distraction by my clone. Make my shadow clone use this jutsu and keep the opponent busy, while I sneak in suddenly and use Kenjutsu or Taijutsu. This would be quite effective in short range, as the projectiles move fast and it gives a very less time for the opponent to react to it.

Counters:
Well, Water Release is a pretty common counter. An A-Rank Fire would work well to overpower the projectiles and continue on weakened towards the opponent. Also, this is quite amazing as it requires the weaving of the same handseal, which confuses the opponent on what jutsu the user would perform.

As the flame reaches the opponent's feet, it erupts into a large pillar of flame, about 3 meters tall, as it burns the opponent very badly.

Advantages:
Very clever technique. Requires no weaving of handseals and is quite fast in it's performance like other techs. Also, it extends upto mid-range which is quite good. The opponent is deceived into thinking that it's a normal flame, and he would usually avoid it by blowing Wind on the ground and pushing him upwards, but to his surprise the flame would turn into a massive pillar, about 3 meters tall, and would hinder his movements and inflict a lot of damage. When he gets hit by it normally, he would take damage and would be thrown mid-air, due to which he would be vulnerable to external attacks.

Disadvantages:
Well, if the small flame is countered with an equal ranked Water technique, then the technique goes to literally waste and the Water would overpower the small flame and wouldn't be as weakened as it would be when it meets a normal B-rank Fire. Albeit it's name being Flame Pillar, it has no defensive abilities.

Creative Uses:
I would never use this in mid-range. I would only use this in short range as the flame would travel quickly and expand into a pillar, before the opponent would have time to counter it. Put the opponent in a genjutsu wherein he sees a fireball descend from the sky, and then use this technique. If he manages to release the genjutsu, then he has to deal with the small flame, which almost reaches him and expands into a pillar, thus taking him by surprise.
