Its Kishi's decision.....let him be. He wants to take Naruto to the outer space. 
Well tbh there are many series that were longer than Naruto but still had their sequels. Like Jojo, Saint Seiya etc. Then there are series like Mahou sensei Negima that have their sequels ongoing with a little different genre and an entirely different name. And according to the latest news Kuroko no Basket and Tokyo Ghoul will have their sequels too.
So Kishi might have decided to bring some new elements into NV or change the genre slightly to start a new manga series on Naruto, after ending the current Manga.....and I m fine with that.
