Mm but even Superhero films have been going since Burton's 'Batman' and properly at the start of the millennium. I've noticed that the last bunch of Marvel films in Phase 2 have ended in a similar explosive finale, I think they're in trouble if Guardians is TOO conventional. We already have a Fantasy superhero film (Thor series) War film (First Avenger) and the Winter Soldier (which was basically a 1970s spy thriller really lol) which is great for variety but it all ends up being a bit similar.
We need Strange and Guardians and Antman to really change the format and explore more genres- and hell maybe even feel not obligated to end the film in usual comic book fashion for once. I feel like thats what Edgar Wright's Antman would've done sadly.
And that's fair with The Voices- i'm guessing you went to Sundance to see it too?
- Captain America 1 = sucked
- Hulk = Sucked
- Thor 1 = sucked
Avengers = seems hella corny when you watch it 3 or 4 times
- Honestly the "real superhero" movies started after the avengers. Thor 2, Man of steel, Winter Soldier, Iron Man 3 (well the Dark Knight series and Iron Man series were already good but you get the point).
Ahaahha, no i did not actually see the movie. Its not the type of movie I would see. I'm not into Horror/pyscho-killer and those kinds of movies. I sometimes think they give ideas to people on how to kill and stuff but eh idk. Either way don't really like them. The reason I'm gonna see Purge 2 is to see what the government has done now.
Yea I do have to agree that Marvel superhero movies are kind of just "generic" comic book movies.
But besides the guardians of the galaxy and Avengers 2, the movies i really think that can change the superhero landscape and into a more depthful movie, would be Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Flash, Man of steel 2.
Ant-man really isn't that kind of a character that you can make a movie about him.. thats how i honestly feel.
PS: I didn't like Winter Soldier Captain America. I have till this day hated Captain America's costume in the movies. They just can't seem to get it right or make it look good.
