Good to finally know the weakness of the quincy's medallions. It explains why Ichigo's bankai couldn't be stolen.
I bet some of us had an idea though. Kubo did give us a big clue when he didn't have any of the visoreds activate the bankai's.
However, there are still some loose ends about the "bankai stealing medallion".
The first time we see the medallion being used, it was Asguiaro (an arrancar) trying to steal Ichigo's bankai. So the arrancar shouldn't have had any problems stealing the bankai since Ichigo's spirit energy shouldn't be piousness to him.
I can only think of four reasons why he may not have been able to steal Ichigo's bankai.
1: He simply wasn't powerful enough to handle Ichigo's bankai, so the medallion wouldn't allow him to steal it.
2: If hollows are like poison to quincy's, maybe the reverse is the same as well. Afterall, a quincy's power does destroy a hollow completely.
3: Ichigo wasn't using his true zanpakuto at the time, since he never had an asauchi to begin with.
4: Bankai is the release of a shinigami's full power. Which is the only time a quincy can steal the bankai from a zanpakuto, and not a shikai. Since zangetsu (quincy manifestation) was suppressing Ichigo's full power, this may have prevented Ichigo's bankai from being taken as well.
Now that Ichigo has his true zanpakutos, won't his quincy manifestation bankai be stolen from him? since there's nothing stopping the quincy's from taking that one?
Also, hasn't Kubo created a plot-hole with this since both of Ichigo's hollow and quincy spirits once merged together in earlier chapters? This would make Ichigo piousness to himself wouldn't it?
