Honestly, Shikamaru is someone who would fill the 'Adviser' role. He isn't someone fit to be a Kage. He just doesn't have the strength backing him.
Currently in the Anime, Naruto is more acknowledged, well known, and respected in the Leaf village and else-where.
I voted Naruto. As for people saying he isn't smart enough, there is a REASON kage's have ADVISERS.
Naruto is pure-hearted, trusted, and well-respected. That is what a kage needs along with being strong.

Voting Kakashi is pretty stupid IMO, because the only circumstance that he will take the hokage position is if there is NO ONE ELSE that can step up to the spot, and it's an emergency situation.
