[Theory] Hiruzen's True Power

Now I will get into what I think Hiruzen's true powers are.

I believe that his main fighting prowess comes from his summoning, the Monkey King Enma.

In the story of Journey to the West, Son Wukong can shape shift his staff and himself into 72 different transformations.

It's been confirmed long ago that Enma does indeed have multiple transformations and is able to shape shift.

In conclusion, when relating Naruto with eastern Asian folklore, I strongly believe that Enma does indeed have 72 different transformations due to the fact that Hiruzen is highly inspired by Wukong. It's just that he couldn't utulize all of these transformations against Orochimaru due to his old age and lack of stamina. Kishimoto does like to base his story off of a lot of Asian folklore after all.

With that I conclude my theory of Hiruzen's true combat abilities.

If you are serious, I beg to differ, I think he was never meant to be strong, and he was just a Hokage because there was no one else better to do it, he don't really have a story, he was just to show what the Hokage is meant to due. That is another reason i dont think he will show a new extreme power, Kishi is just not that in to him, and it would be a kick in the ass the the new generation and their motto "next gen surpasses the last"

The Diamond Staff (Enma) is weak. Their is nothing more to Enma but his transformation which is not much impressive than what we seen from the Bijuu and Madara. Hurizen would have to pull something big out of his @ss.

His staff may not be very strong, but it sure isn't weak. It's extension is physically strong enough to push a Bijuu.

Hiruzen true power is in the techniques he uses he can use alot of high skilled jutsu in quick succession without losing that much chakra as his chakra is very strong even in his old age

We see that Hashirama can basically destroy a building by raising his chakra. Hiruzen at age 70 can raise tiles of the ground with his chakra. Now assuming that he is elderly and his chakra is severely dwindled, it can be assumed that in his prime, he would have a very similar effect to Hashirama when raising his chakra, maybe even a more pronounced effect. Also don't forget part 1 naruto was severely toned down power scale wise.

For me the 3rd is hugely underestimated.

Eh I disagree but its interesting though. For me, Hiruzens power lie in his variety. Out of all the hokages, he's the least physically gifted. He lacks the extreme speed of minato and the physical power and stamina of hashirama and tobirama. I've always had the impression that he was the most skilled of the kage and had the most variety in terms of ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu. They didnt call him the professor for no reason and he had to make up for his physical deficits and lack of brute force somehow...

He's like the martina hingis/roger federer of naruto imo...

It seems to me that Hiruzen was a cross between Son Wukong and Sasuke Sarutobi, another famous Asian fictional hero who was raised by monkeys.

I disagree though about Hiruzen's power lying specifically in Enma. Summoning is just part of Hiruzen's power, he's an expert in nin/tai/gen.

Though its possible he could have all those transformations, I think his real power is a vast catalogue of jutsu and the wisdom & experience to use them in amazing combonations.
