Haters tried to insist that Kishimoto forgot about things like hype, but this chapter proved that 8th Gate Guy is indeed stronger than the Kages. Madara himself even admitted that his fight with Guy reminded him of Hashirama.

You can't deny the hype. Prime Hiruzen has never been officially retconned so he still very much exists.

Did you honestly think it was a coincidence that Hiruzen is absent while the other hokages have been fodderized? Of course not. Kishimoto knows that if Hiruzen joins the fray, Madara would be destroyed in an instant.

It's shame that Guy wasn't able to finish off Madara, but no worries. The Shinobi Alliance have yet to play trump card...

I've been saying for some time, Kishi is taking everyone out of the picture, so that when Hiruzen and Madara (Madara will get more power ups by then, only to make it fair for him) clash there won't be any excuses.
