anyways, i see Maddy as an active threat as an individual and the clan as merely a group. you dont jail an entire community for what their leader did. Freindly reminder, Hitler was popular at that time.

And I agree with the comparison to Hitler, for sure. But I think you're more outside looking in on a modern day scale whereas I'm on the inside looking out and that explains the disconnect perfectly, perhaps. So my logic is coming from the fact that I am placing my brain in that exact time period in Naruto and saying "what would be the best choice for the best overall outcome to protect the village in such a war-filled time?" And I think you're outside looking in like "genocide is so fucked..." And on that front, totally agree obviously lmao. But I am discussing this topic as if I were a ninja at that time who would have to make a morally tough decision on the lesser evil. Outside of that, yeah. No. Tobirama was a Konoha Hitler, I agree lmao. I think from a modern, non-immersive standpoint, a lot of things in the story could be absolutely shredded to pieces from a moral standpoint. Pt1 and half of Pt2 was almost all bad and evil. I can't really think of one good thing off the top of my head besides Iruka willing to sacrifice himself to save Naruto knowing Kurama was inside him and not blaming Naruto for what happened to his parents because he isn't an idiot who thinks Naruto is the sole inheritor of the damage Kurama did to the village.

a lot of convos happening in my country RIGHT NOW are failing their job because there seems to be some unspoken agreement to not build the bridge between the inside and outside perspectives, so the talk just seems to be a mere courtesy and not a genuine attempt to solve problems.

i very much believe the two positions are not contradictory but rather different pieces of the puzzle. your view on this? (the relationship between the two positions)
