its quite possible that he didnt know any sealing jutsus and was waiting for minato come and deal with kyuubi

Well ill be honest I don't agree that hiruzen is weak that's not the case but I think hiruzen gets countered by minato easily as he isn't fast enough to even hit him and if hiruzen gets tagged its over ... Remember that he has **** loads of seals meaning it won't be hard to stop Enma with a few seals and then from then it depends how smart hiruzen is to try think of a way of beating minato but as minato has proven he can think of a strategy to counter his enemies in like 1 minute so hiruzen will have to do it faster than that which is unlikely

O and the people saying that hiruzen wasn't hokage and he is justified for standing there waiting for minato ..hiruzen is strong he should have been beating kurama to a pulp regardless if he is 50 or not .. Why do I say this? If he was strong enough to replace minato after he died and be hokage for many years after than he should have done better seriously I am in no way hating ..but if you think about it what if minato never made it in time ? The village would have been dust and hiruzen pissed kurama off by poking him with his walking stick ... Kurama probably was going to spam tbb from that range ... He would have killed alot of people

No shinobi is beating kurama to a pulp, especially ones that are past their prime.

The only way to defeat him is to have the sharingan, mokuton or have a host to seal him into, Hiruzen had none of these. He had to stall for time for minato to arrive and assess the situation and tell him whats gone on with kushina.

Their ultimate goal was to stall untill the kyuubi could be resealed, Hiruzen and the other shinobi did that. Minato even needed help from kushina to keep the kyuubi still long enough to seal it.

Even with seals he hasn't any ways to restrain the kyuubi or keep it still long enough to seal it. He most likely did know RDS but he had nothing to seal the kyuubi into.
If he sealed it in himself it would of done more harm than goood because the leaf would be bijuu-less and the balance of power between the nations would of shifted with the leaf being the weakest. This is the main reason minato did take the kyuubi down with him or didn't want kushina to do the same becuase it would mess up the balance of power bwteen the nations.

Also look here "Not again" and slumps over, further proving even at this point he wasn't a prime state. Be it his body not being able to keep up like it used to or what not.

No one said ever said they disagree with hiruzens "God of shinobi" title.

Actually, due to Kage Bunshins, Hiruzen would be able to successfully seal ALL of Kurama with Shiki Fujin. If it was Hiruzen who had died sealing the Kyuubi, then there would be no war today.

Kishimoto just made it Minato the one who died only for plot device.
