No, he didn't. He used his smelling and his clones to find the kages.. Kurenai's genjutsu isn't working like that since she traps her opponent.

But he couldn't break Hashirama's genjutsu, despite that was the weak and mindless version of Hashirama. People tend to forget how powerful is Kurenai's genjutsu. Her skill with genjutsu is so vast that it is said to rival even those of Itachi [ databook fact ]
