Even after Hiruzen had sealed parts of his soul away, fought for quite some time, diminished his chakra greatly with shadow clones, disarmed Orochimaru sword in close combat easily, and had the speed to sneak up in front of him and while having the sword of Kusangi pierced through him, he was still able to hold Orochimaru's soul with the Reaper for an 1 hour long.

Anybody who can slip two explosive tags on the legs of two Hokages without them realizing, while also engaging Orochimaru in a close range weapons battle while Orochimaru is wielding his best weapon, and then successfully disarm and completely distract Orochimaru, while at the same moving in quickly from his blindspot to grab and hold onto him and use a technique on him at close range, is incredible!!!
