Hiruzen Should Have Stopped Danzo

This Uchiha Massacre was so unnecessary thanks to Danzo. Hiruzen wanted to make peace with the Uchiha but Danzo the ******* Shimura just got too selfish.

But plot right? If it wasn't for that massacre we wouldn't have Sasuke.

Hiruzen did indeed want to make peace with the Uchiha, The Problem was that the uchiha didn't want to make Peace with him. Thus there were two options.

War or Massacre. Given time even Hiruzen would of acted like danzo did, Danzo himself stated that the 3rd will act if he is forced to do so.

If it wasn't for the Uchiha and their self entitlement issues the Massacre wouldn't of been an issue period.

Danzo forced the issue by going behind Hiruzen's back to blackmail Itachi. Given some more time a solution might have been reached, although Black Zetsu was stirring things up with the Uchiha clan too. Hiruzen was at fault though as hokage. Once Hiruzen realized that Shisui couldn't help he should have tried harder to find another way.

I do not understand how he allowed Danzo to have so much power even after Danzo had tried to kill him. He might have felt it necessary to have Danzo handle the dark side of the village but once Danzo had tried to kill him he should have kept a much tighter reign on him and insisted on knowing everything he was doing.

As hokage he should not have had to ask permisssion of Danzo to use ANBU whenever he wanted and he certainly should not have had to ask permission to visit ANBU headquarters. It is beyond ridiculous that he had to force the issue with Danzo to get Tenzo/Yamato out of Danzo's control.

For someone who was called the professor, he was not too smart when it came to Danzo.
