Hiruzen Stands at 163 centimeters and weighs in at 50.6 kg. His hair was once a deep brown in his youth, but now at his current age it has paled to a very light brown, verging on white. This pale brown hair is short-medium length while being spiked up and pointing somewhat backwards. He also sports a triangular goatee of the same color on his chin. His has two of what seem to be birth marks on his left cheek although they do not seem to be present in his youth, possible age spots. His face, while it somewhat betrays his age, is decently youthful for a man his age. Aside from a few wrinkles he seems to be in good shape. During the majority of his time he is seen wearing the traditional Kage uniform. Hiruzen is also often seen smoking a pipe during his later years. During battle Hiruzen sheds his Kage uniform and wears a black outfit. His forearms and shins are covered by a gray fishnet material while his feel have black sandals. His shoulders are also covered with a gray material while he wears a black cap that has gray armor shingles on the sides of his head. The hat also has two black strands that extend the length of his body and appear to be thin cloth.

Personality
Hiruzen was the ideal leader and role model during his time as Hokage. He led the village instead of ruling it, and he did so with courage, honor, wisdom, strength and the willingness to sacrifice himself for the people. Contrary to the ideas of Danzo, Hiruzen attempted to make peace of every situation first. When the Cloud villiage attempted to kidnap a Hyuuga and got one of their own killed, instead of declaring war, they met and came to a compromise. This compromise ended up sacrificing a Hyuuga member, but averted war. He also tried to reach compromise with the Uchiha clan before they were exterminated by Itachi at the orders of the elders and Danzo. This difference in philosophy made Hiruzen and Danzo very different characters. To the villagers Hiruzen was more than their Hokage, he was like a father and a grandfather. Especially to Naruto. He never viewed Naruto as a jinchuuriki but saw him as a person, possibly because he was one of the only ones who knew the truth about Naruto's father, and Naruto admired him because of it.
Despite his great qualities he had one downfall. It is something that has plagued many great men throughout history. Girls. He is the original perverted sensei. He is the one who taught Jiraiya, the pervy sage, how to spy on women. He was also known to have fallen for Naruto's sexy jutsu on multiple occasions, something only a true pervert would fall for.

- Wisdom: Hiruzen is considered the wisest member of Konoha. over his 68 years of life he has compiled a vast amount of knowledge spanning a plethora of topics. It was said that Sarutobi had knowledge of every jutsu within the walls of Konoha. This library of information earned Sarutobi the nickname "The Professor".
- Earth and Fire: Hiruzen's two elemental affinities were earth and fire, both of which he was shown to be proficient in. He was also able to use the two elements in succession to create elemental collaboration combinations that would create devastating lava techniques.
- Enma Summoning: Hiruzen was able to summon Enma the Monkey King, a personal summon of his. They were shown to have a long history together during which they developed a strong ability to work together. Hiruzen has been the only character shown who was able to summon Monkeys.
- Taijutsu: Hiruzen was skilled in hand to hand combat. He was able to fight against both the 1st and 2nd Hokages and then wielded a large adamantine staff with ease.

Background Info.
History:
Hiruzen was born to a man named Sasuke Sarutobi and stood out as an elite shinobi from a very young age. After graduating from the academy he was placed in a squad along with Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, the two future elders of Konoha. Their squad leader was the Nidaime Hokage, Tobirama Senju, though Sarutobi was also seen training with the Shodaime as well. Hiruzen developed a rivalry with a fellow classmate, Danzo Shimura. While at times they seemed to butt heads they always had a certain respect for each other. Danzo felt that Hiruzen was always one step ahead of him and they both aspired to become Hokage some day. During the first great shinobi war while on a mission under Tobirama, Hiruzen and his group were surrounded by an elite group of Kumogakure ninja. Tobirama came to the conclusion that one of them would have to stay behind and be killed while the other fled. Sarutobi was the first one to volunteer himself, much to the petition of Danzo. But in the end Tobirama himself decided to stay behind allowing the rest to escape and carry on his legacy. Before leaving he made one final decision, he named Hiruzen Sarutobi to be the third Hokage.
Hiruzen soon gained his own set of students. Three shinobi that would one day become the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru, Tsunade and Jiraiya. He also developed his own family. He married a woman named Biwako and had two children with her. One of these children were Asuma Sarutobi, a Jonin of Konoha. The other child has never been shown in the manga. Eventually he became the grandfather of Konohamaru who was the son of the unnamed child. During Hiruzen's time as a sensei to the Sannin he came to see great potential in Orochimaru. Much like himself Orochimaru was a natural born talent. However, he also came to see hatred in the young student's heart and a thirst for power. Hiruzen tried to steer Orochimaru down the right path but it was to no avail. When it came time to pass on the title of Hokage he instead chose the student of Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze. This decision was short lived however as Minato sacrificed himself to stop the rampaging 9-tailed beast. This forced Hiruzen to take back the title of Hokage.
Hiruzen soon discovered that Orochimaru had been kidnapping and conducting experiments on Konoha villagers in secret. Hiruzen confronted Orochimaru but was unable to bring himself to kill his former student, allowing Orochimaru to escape. Years later Orochimaru returned to the village in an attempt to destroy Konoha and fought Hiruzen. Hiruzen was faced with two risen Hokages, who despite how much damage they took could not be killed. Using his only option he summoned the death god and sealed away both of the fallen hokage's souls and Orochimaru's arms, preventing Orochimaru from using any further jutsu. The death god had its price however. It also sealed away the soul of the user. Hiruzen gave his life to stop Orochimaru and save the village, and died with a smile on his face. The embodiment of who he was was shown in his death.
Other
Reaper Death Seal: Hiruzen was one of two characters known to use this forbidden technique. The other character was his student Namikaze Minato. This technique summoned the Death God to devour the soul of the target. But the cost of the technique was the life of the user, who also had their soul sealed. I was given permission to use this technique from Xylon.
Reputation: During his time as the hokage Hiruzen developed a legendary reputation throughout the shinobi world. He was hailed as the "God of Shinobi" and was said to be the strongest Hokage the leaf had ever seen by Iruka. Hiruzen was able to build this reputation of being a strong warrior while also building a reputation of peace and knowledge.
Will of Fire: Hiruzen was a strong follower of the will of fire. He believed in protecting the youth and leading by peace, love and sacrifice. This will of fire gave Hiruzen the strength to fight even when he faced unsurmountable odds. He worked hard to instill this belief system into the younger generation who carry's on his legacy.
