I just wanted to say he let himself get slapped around by both Orochimaru and the previous Kages. He thought he could stop Orochimaru's twisted heart, and he was disheartened to kill him. I know for a fact if he took that fight seriously from the start he would have disowned Orochimaru. I am with you that Hashirama's would still be op and superior, more because of his medical tech, and then his wood style and other proficiencies. Also, they did show his power,

Ok im rly rly tired of this same of thread over and over.
To everyone who says "we cnt say tht hiruzen in his prime was the best cuz we havent seen him, theres jst been hype"
well what about hashirama? have we ever seen him accttually fight? no? All we've seen are a couple of mokuton attacks used by other people.
From what i've seen all people use in these arguments is hype.
And u rly cant do tht in threads deciding who was better.
cuz as we all know the characters in narutoverse often times hype and de-hype the wrong people.
for example in part one everyone and i mean everyone that naruto fought de-hyped him saying he was worthless and what not and naruto beat them just about everytime.
what im trying to get at is that 1. We havent seen enough of Hashirama or Hiruzen in their primes to decide who wins this in terms of strength. and 2. We cant decide who's better bcuz as i jst said hype in narutoverse is often given to much or to little to certain characters.
This argument cannot be decided with the amount of knowledge we currently have.

What you said only makes Hashirama looks stronger.
Sarutobi when saw Kurama told everyone to wait for Minato... If he was such a strong old man as you say then he would be useful helping Minato handling Kurama and maybe, just maybe Naruto would have his parents alive...

but think about it , when he did arrive he was willin to sacrifice him self but he couldn't because of the barrier Minato put up so that Kurama won't damage the village anymore

From my point of view, if he was half the shinobi he was while fighting Orochimaru would still not be enough to par with how powerful Hasirama is.
Lets face it .We actually gauge both characters by how powerful their opponents are since not much information are shown for both(Hiruzen on his prime and Hashirama)

Hashirama Senju Vs. Madara Uchiha
We all can see how powerful Uchiha Madara is.This gives us an idea of Hashirama Senju's capabilities.

Sarutobi Hiruzen Vs. Orochimaru
One of the Sannin. Was considered a possible contender for the Hokage title by Sarutobi himself.

If Hiruzen is the strongest(powerful,best,greatest) Kage the leaf ever had,then it is easy to say that his strength had a great decrease from his prime state.*

THIS IS OVER. I am going to end this dear God once and for all. Anything anybody says otherwise is a silly logicless fanboy.

My opinion is fanboyless I base it solely on the fact that the third has been called the greatest hokage by more than one character in the series (Oro was one of them and also dubbed him the "God of shinobi" - Ya know Oro, the guy who most consider the most intelligent person in the entire series, AND ORO was alive during the first Hokage so..... ya...)

Hiruzen took on partial first kage, second kage, and oro who was easily kage level. All three of them combined at the age of 69 HAH.

The fact that we never say his prime is a terrible tragedy. However it is simply fool to say that he was not strong because we never saw him in his prime DOES NOT ****ING MEAN he wasn't as he is described - I mean for God sakes we never truly saw the SO6P ever, does that mean he was not powerful?
Yet personally I thought taking on Oro when nobody could even come close to their level was a Godly act in itself, again not to mention he was 69. If you go by that logic, then the SO6P would be nothing because technically all we have heard are people speak of how powerful he was, EVEN THOUGH we ALL SAW him do something epic anyways.

IF ANY OF THIS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU SILLY FANBOYS, THEN LET THIS BE THE FINAL NAIL IN YOUR LOGIC FAIL COFFIN - Kishi HIMSELF stated that Hiruzen was the most powerful Hokage yet/of his time.

To add some questions,does anyone recall the shinobi or the person to claim Hiruzen the strongest of all Hokages?This would really help if someone can give me a name of that shinobi.

These following lines catches my attention:

I'm just curious if that shinobi who mentioned these were old enough to see Hashirama or even Tobirama in battle to compare Hiruzen. Does anyone know if Hiruzen was already born during Hashirama Senju's battle with Uchiha Madara?If that shinobi who claimed Hiruzen stronger than all previous Kages is younger than him,then his comparison is questionable due to that shinobi not witnessing the other previous Kages in battle.And if that shinobi claiming is around Hiruzen's age, do we have supporting facts that Hiruzen was already born during Hashirama's battle with Madara?
Please dont get me wrong Sarutobi fans.I LOVE SARUTOBI's character.I see him as PEACE personafied in the whole manga. Its just so awesome that if he really is the strongest Hokage ever,it will mean that he surpasses the 1st Hokage ,which means his "PRIME STATE" will pulverize the Madara we currently see now.

Sorry to butt in So Orochimaru was already born during Hashirama's time?Please correct me if I am wrong.I remember a scene were Tobirama (2nd Hokage) passed the Hokage title to Hiruzen @ a very young age.

I tried searching Hashirama with Orochimaru at google and bing respectively(hoping to find a scene to prove Orochimaru's existance during Hashirama's time line)but did not get any results. Sir, if you can post an evidence(image,video,link) of Orochimaru's existance which you claim during Hashirama's time line then you are right on the facts. But if you cant ,ill stand by my belief and evidence(2 image above) that Orochimaru did not exist in Hashirama's timeline,rendering his claims "OPINIONS" due to Orochimaru not being able to witness Hashirama or even Tobirama perform in battle.
Also about the SO6P, you wrote: "we never truly saw the SO6P ever, does that mean he was not powerful?" is true. But the SO6P did leave something behind as proof of his power."THE TAILED BEASTS" We all know it is hard enough to controll a tailed beast yet the SO6P created them.(which I believe to be a fact coming from the tailed beasts themselves)

Correct me if i am wrong but it was Iruka who stated hiruzen was the strongest kage of all time "god of shinobi". The databooks are simply using quotations from the characters... The point is, you guys trust the words coming from the teacher of the academy get real plz
