And Hashirama was never said to have abnormal strength, much less brute strength. Hiruzen was stated by the author to be stronger than all other Hokage without a doubt in each databook.
Have you even been reading the manga or watching the anime. The story if you have you will have seen that it has changed since the first naruto. If you have yet to seen kishimoto switch to focusing on the strength and greatness of madara and the first hokage you are blind. He put madara and the first hokage together to freaking show you that together they are invincible. You people make it seem like he is completely bound by everything that happen in the first series. seriously part 1 was a complete fail and plot no jutsu, kishi had a sudden change of mind of how strong the kages were, i mean he sealed hashirama and tobirama without any problems??:shrug:
He hasn't contradicted or made a mistake. the manga is accurate in terms of the timeline. Hiruzen is best. Kishimoto says that so thats that. Hiruzen was third hokage, Hashirama was first. Hashirama was the strongest and second was madara. AT THAT TIME. During Tobirama's hokage reign, the first was dead, and im sure hiruzen was not in his prime yet. He was the best ninja in konoha at the time of becoming hokage and im sure he was not in his prime until later since he had not yet surpassed the second hokage[At that time.] The evidence is clear. just read the manga carefully. The only reason Hashirama is the only one who can defeat Madara is because he know him very well.Hashirama simply already knows how to handle madara and no one else does.
