Naruto's mom placed a barrier over the area so he couldnt get in, but when he did have a chance he did push the nine-tails out of the village with his staff.

Yeah, I know he couldn't help at that very rate. But he also had a chance before/after Minato appearing with a frog and held Kurama.
Well he was retired as hokage but it isn't to take as excuse for what he didn't do. My point is that if Hashirama was in Sarutobi's place then Hashirama could easily pet Kurama... I got strong doubts about those two.

here. dan was around when hiruzen was in his prime. dan says hashirama is the only one who can beat madara but why didnt he say hiruzen can beat him, hashiramas supposed superior.

Simply means Hashirama was the perfect match for Madara. His abilities were suited to counter act what Madara had to offer. This links in with the debate:

A > B
B > C

Which does not mean A is greater than C. Hashirama being the only one who can defeat Madara because he was the only one at the time who faced of with him; Dan never had the opportunity to see if Hiruzen could counter Madara.

I also ask why you try and give credit to Dan's statement yet disregard what Iruka said about Hiruzen? Selective much?

nope. dan is convinced that only hashirama can defeat madara despite witnessing prime hiruzen, the supposed strongest hokage. you do know dan was around when hiruzen was in his prime right. if hashirama defeated madara it only makes sense his superior can to.

ok.. if the tables were turned and a old hashirama with lower chakra reserves was fighting a young hiruzen in his prime who do you think would win?? Hiruzen easy.. so the fact that hiruzen fought young hash and one speaks voulumes about how powerful he was. and if they were to reply that fight in shippuden instead of just naruto then it would have been more epic.

part 2 hype is far more reliable as the story has progressed more

naruto isnt all about matchups 100% of the time. its getting to the point where you are useless unless you have rinnehaxx, the sages body, or are a jinchuriki. there are matchups where the person with the most firepower wins and this happens to be one of those instances.

god use logic please, i believe Ryuu already explained it to you...

1) Hashirama knows all of hiruzen's abilities, tricks etc
2) Hashirama would have counters for all of his abilities tricks etc
3) Hashirama knows how Madara fights


You have to understand fighting skilled uchihas without knowing their jutsu and having knowledge on them is practically sucide

You can be as strong as you wish , and walk up to shishui with no knowledge of him, get KA'D and get put down

You can be as strong as you wish, walk up to itachi, not know about tsukyomi or his genjtusu capabilities, get tsukyomi'd, get put down..

In naruto , just because A>B and B>C, doesn't mean A>C...naruto doesn't work like that..

a perfect example would be kisame and gai... Lets say gai can beat kisame, and kakashi can't beat kisame

by your logic kakashi HAS to lose to gai.. but naruto, in no way works like that.. not in one bit... there are tons of things that change the outcome of a battle,,,

Just because hashirama beat madara, does not mean hiruzen can't beat hashirama

Hiruzen, was taught by hashirama and tobirama..
Know all their jutsu
Would the best way to counter their jutsu

while they know only info on young hiruzen...

Exactly, thats why I don't get it when people say Orochimaru beat Hiruzen which means Orochimaru>Hiruzen....BULLS'HIT!!!! Hiruzen was old AF no where near tip top shape anymore(Orochimaru even said it during the fight), Orochimaru, thanx to science, was very close to his prime state(newer body)

Hiruzen has shown me nothing that proves he's stronger than Hashirama. Watch though, someone will bring up Hiruzen's fight against Hashirama and Tobirama without knowing the predicaments of the fight.

I could care less about his hype because that was way back in part 1 and for all we know Kishi could've changed his mind. Besides Hashirama has hype equal to if not better than Hiruzen's.

Only thing that changed was the power levels; meaning, the way the fights were in part one, people 'seemed' weaker than they actually were. I've heard alot of people say Hashirama and Tobirama were nerfed in that battle but next to no-one says Hiruzen, despite being 69, also had his power nerfed

And as Owarij said once, it's like you went out with Kishi and talked with him about the storyline over a cup of tea. How can you tell me that Kishi has changed his mind as the story progressed? Bring me some evidence of this. Kishi's notes or something because that argument is just laughable.
