It was said that Hiruzen was the strongest among the 3rd generation kages(No need to post a scan we've all seen it during the prime hiruzen raid).They are arguably the strongest generation of kages as a whole(but that's another subject). Anyway, 3rd raikage...we all saw his edo performance against SA and Naruto.

We have to ask ourselves if Hiruzen was named the strongest then how on earth could he beat someone like 3rd raikage with the strongest offense and defense. Naruto has the best futon attack in the manga hands down and he tanked it like nothing. It's almost safe to say rasenshuriken > every futon jutsu Hiruzen has. So that leaves raiton.

We saw a powerful chidori from sauce do this too A who was actually surprised.

Comfirmed by Kakashi Raikiri > Chidori. Raikiri could be just as powerful as 3rd raikage 2 finger hellbringer?(pure speculation)

Hiruzen mastered all jutsu in konoha. Kakashi was pretty young when he master chidori so it isn't impossible for Hiruzen to know it.

Give me your thoughts on what you may think Hiruzen had in his arsenal to give him the strongest of the 3rd Gwen belt. It could've been the neutralizer jutsu lol


For bonus points there is a rumor going around that Hiruzen had the rinnegan in his prime but now is too old to keep it activated for longer than 30 seconds

He has the lightning proficiency certainly, but I thought that without sharingan, it left you open to a counter attack (the third raikage obviously has the tankiness to not worry about a counter attack)

You overhype the 3rd Raikage, yes he knows Raikiri .. But he doesn't need Raikiri to kill he third.. Hiruzen in his prime would set the 3rd in a genjutsu and kill him.. Hurizen was faster than the 3rd Raikage.. He mastered the body flicker and was proficient with teleportation jutsu and FR jutsu.. Hurizen would suck his chakra out, throw him off a cliff, that's that

He doesn't need sharingan, he masters senjutsu and he can use that as a very well suited means to use Raikiri with just raw speed, however, he doesn't need sage jutsu either, teleportation jutsu and FR allow him to use the Raikiri without ever using raw speed

-_- he's not the only person who can harm himself.. Yagura for instance can harm him , Itachi easily can harm him( he has no counter to Amaterasu) the Rokubi( Six tailed slug) can harm him with the acid. Mei has her corrosive mist, Tsunade has Katsuyas Acid .. Kakashi has his Raikiri.. The 3rd had his defences heightened to a great extent with his lightning armor on , without it, his skin is that comparable to steel.. Nuff said
