There is no statement saying "hiruzen is the strongest hokage"
The statement said " hiruzen was SAID to be the strongest hokage"
meaning it was what the characters in the manga thought, before saying just because its written its law you have to remember that people also didn't believe in hashirama's hype when they heard it they discarded it as fairy tale.

If these said characters discarded hashirama's hype but believed hiruzen it means hiruzen was on a lower level that is believable if you hear about it, people could accept it (don't get me wrong i am in no way saying hiruzen is weak ) he would make my top 10 if his prime existed ( but there is no proof of it yet so yea...)

hashirama >>>>>> old hiruzen by far
hashirama > prime hiruzen (considering hashirama would be at his prime)

now i understand this is probably a troll tread of some kind but my point of this is also that you can intepret what you want from the manga to come out with an answer supporting your character (with the manga i believe hashirama > hiruzen until they said otherwise by someone relevant or they show hiruzen prime who is so op it make hashirama look normal) i can give enough hype to match hiruzen hype by using the manga.

his professor can be matched by "The clan with a thousand skills" (the Senju were prodigious in all skills, from ninjutsu, to taijutsu, and genjutsu.)

the god of shinobi title they both have now

the strongest hokage ( debatable as i stated above)

strongest of their time which they should both have i guess

1- The databook stated that Hiruzen is the strongest konoha has even had.
2- We don't know who believed in Hash's power and who did not, are those people from konoha? or are they from the other villages? Those who did not believe in his power, were they those people who live now, or the people who lived 40-50 years ago when Hiruzen was in his prime? We just do not know.

3- Hiruzen is not my favorite character, I used to deny this statement as well because my favorite Hokage is Minato, and I did not want Hiruzen to be the strongest as well, but I stopped denying manga facts.

as for "relevant" character, it's just an excuse in my opinion to support the character at disadvantage. I came across
people who were saying kakashi is ignorant and what he said about the Sharingan and the Byakugan being from the same original was wrong, and what obito said is correct. Then years after Kakashi's statement kishi introduced Kaguya, and kakashi's statement was proven right.

The same thing about Gaara's shukaku, and the priest. The same thing about the 8th gate and its power.
Yes, kishi took YEARS to show that, but those statements are in fact true, and they were never changed since part 1.

as I said, people are fast to jump to conclusion and claim about what they haven't seen to be wrong and most of the time is about fanboysim. However, when that happen they are the first to either
1- disappear and not show up to acknowledge that they were wrong.
2- To scream "asspull!!!"

anyway, I really don't care which one of them is stronger, but the only thing stated in the manga is the fact that prime Hiruzen is the strongest Hokage konoha has ever had. There is no single place in the manga that stated that Hashirama is actually the strongest, not even once!

The only characters I care about are Naruto & his parents, so I don't really care about this war between Hiruzen & Hashirama. Lol

this is why the manga is full of BS

at 1st hiruzen was said to be strongest

this hype was supported by feats too , when he defeated oro & edo hashi/tobi

but later in the manga hashi was hyped as f##k by madara & kabuto .............. this was also backed up by feats

it seems kishi has changed his mind later on ........ but that means inconsistency in the plot ..... that makes a BS plot ..... kishi has failed on so many levels .....

OT: i dunno .............. based on all the manga facts which includes hiruzen hype/feat , hashi hype/feat ....... it's really hard to decide who is stronger .....
