I know another Hiruzen/Hashirama thread.
I’m just trying to state my own opinion, and why I think this.
First I’d like to point out that many people tend to dismiss Dan as proof of Hashirama being more powerful because “he never saw Hashirama in battle”. However Iruka who is the main source Hiruzens hype has never seen Hashirama’s power either, so why does he get to be used as proof.
Even if you decide to use him as proof, it shouldn’t be taken literally (at least I think). I mean just think about it, it was probably just hype. This was the first time we ever saw the hokage, of course he’s going to get hyped.
Take for example Itachi when his Susano’o was first introduced. Kishi used zetsu to call him “invincible”. If he was actually invincible then he would be able to deflect a TBB or a slash of PS, even if they were thrown at the same time. Do you actually believe his Susano’o would be able to tank that?
Hiruzen was known to have/know all of Konoha’s jutsus. Kakashi was known to have 1000 jutsu’s and he was barely kage level(I think, not sure if it was Kamui that made him Kage level or not…). Just because you know a lot of jutsu it doesn’t make you the strongest.
Hiruzen was old. I’m sorry, but this should not be an excuse Oonoki(again forgot how to spell his name my bad) is probably older than he was and he was still the Kage who did the most damage against Madara. Even though he was constantly complaining about his back.
Danzo was about the same age and he didn’t even seem fatigued from age. If anything(I’m sorry for saying this I don’t hate or dislike Hiruzen, I’m just stating my opinion.) it showed how weak Hiruzen was or atleast how weak his will was.
Danzo states that the 2nd Hokage was the strongest in the leaf when he and Hiruzen were arguably close to their prime. Most reach there prime around there 20s or 30s. So even if Hiruzen was stronger than the 2nd hokage it wasn’t by a lot.
Danzo states that Hiruzen was only one step ahead of him and they were rivals. Meaning Hiruzen wasn’t that much stronger than him. Yet Danzo even with upgrades lost to MS Sasuke who by the way does not have any special chakra unlike Madara.
Hashirama lived in an era of constant battle, when strength meant everything and still nobody was able to surpass him.
Madara while fighting all the Kages at the same time thinks that they are all weak compared to him. I understand that he is much more powerful, however don’t you think he would still be able to tell whether or not someone was stronger than another?
Dan, who was alive during Hiruzen’s reign says only Hashirama would be able to defeat Madara.
Lastly Madara has shown what Hashirama can do and from what we have seen there are only a handful of characters that would even have a chance of defeating this guy.
