Remember, he was dead when Asuma died, and now he is reanimated and he suddenly discovers that his son is dead. It's actually very sad to think about, that he is awakened into the world and discovers suddenly that his son and student (Jiraiya) are dead.

those were narutos memories. they were able to see them via ino's mind link hashirama had her perform. not narutos chakra sharing.

Yeah I noticed that too. I was glad to see that panel I remember after a few weeks of his revival, I was starting to think he'd never learn that his own son died. He seemed pretty sad and upset about it, Kishi has been skipping on potential reactions, I'm glad he capitalized on this one. I enjoyed the flashbacks in this chapter. Hiruzen probably notices J-man's death as well in this chapter too
