Hiruzen and Tenzo

How does Hiruzen know to call Tenzo "Yamato"
Wasn't Tsunade the one who assigned the name "Yamato" to him? And by that time Hiruzen was already dead.
Did Kishi made a mistake?

are you sure? I thought he was called Kinoe while Kakashi was on ANBU, and that only happened on the filler arc of the anime, it isnt even official.

"Kakashi: The Shadow of Anbu" was a filler, as in "non-canon". During Kakashi Hatake's time as a member of the Anbu, Yamato/Tenzo was known as Kinoe when was a member of the root. Tsunade assigned the name "Yamato" to Tenzo/Kinoe when she made him the new captain of Team 7. However, its likely that he was known as Yamato before even becoming a member of the Root or Anbu. (Yamato may be his real name, or it may have some other meaning to it.)

Hiruzen knows all. I mean where have you been? Hiruzen is the God of the universe. The Supreme Being, the One ABOVE the One Above All. It would only make sense thus that he would know something so simple as Tenzo's name being Yamato. Believe in the Hype! (Hiruzen 5 Leggo)

I think "yamato" is a codename....more like universal codename for someone who has a particular but temporarily mission. That means tenzo/yamato is not leaving anbu yet, not like kakashi. Yamato also can be seen written in the pole where danzou and root anbu have their secret meeting during pein's attack.
