Yeah, but it's also the Sage's nickname as well, don't forget. There are people in real life that won't let you name a teddy bear after deities (that's an old news story I heard and I thought it was unbelievable). So that's going a little bit past respect, ya think? Either it's a fetish of some sort or there's a bit of truth regarding the extent of his power, and if that's true, there shouldn't be someone more powerful than you if you're "the God of Shinobi". Not hatin', just sayin'.

And the power of a ninja should be nowhere near the power of the man who created ninjutsu. Idc what Oro, Kabuto, Tobi, and Madara keep saying about being close to the power of the Sage. Hiruzen shouldn't be anything compared to the Sage, period.

No offense but let me put this out for you....

Hiruzen fought Orochimaru when he was 69 years old, not in his prime, with Enma against his former student who had Hashirama and Tobirama by his side, yet still Hiruzen defeated both former hokages and it was clear that he would have defeated Orochimaru if he was just 10 years younger which means around 59.

The kyuubi attack was just about a few years earlier which means around 57 years old, not his prime, not even close. So by that time he would be weakened to what he used to be yet still he beat the Kyuubi out of the village with a single strike, so what if he was tired i say that is very impressive.

He still would have had tons of chakra left and able to fight.

So i dont see why you think he is not worthy of such a title.

those were orochimarus edo tensei. it's not complete. nothing like kabuto's.
orochimaru didnt even do shit with that fight. that was a weak fight. compared to others. not impressive at all.

he didnt beat the kyubi out the village, it was all enma. he expanded.

base on what we've seen so far prime or not, hiruzen doesnt deserve the title god of shinobi. onoki is more impressive than him. and hes fighting the strongest kages ever and madara.

I never said he wasn't. He deserves his hype, but the nickname just doesn't stick right with him. And I'm sure they took the cigs out for editing purposes along with the mild language and most of the blood. Too much for kids these days, y'know

False. Orochimaru knew way more jutsu than Hiruzen did.

Hiruzen was said to know every jutsu in Konoha. Orochimaru left Konoha and traveled all over and did crazy experiments to try and learn every jutsu in the world.

Plus it is a physical impossibility for Hiruzen to know and be able to use every jutsu in Konoha. It just isn't poss

faaail thread.. lol hiruzen took on a partial second and first kages, as well as oro who we know was kage level at 69 LOL. When he was 57 he managed to put the entire weight of the 9 tails full demon size and push him out of the village. Enma extended, but the entire bout of the weight still got pushed down on Hiruzen. I'd say that is pretty god damn strong for somebody far out of their prime. He would most likely have done more had the fourth not shown - no doubt he probably would have been killed, but we definitely would have seen him do much more if he wasn't waiting on the fourth WHO HE KNEW was supreme in sealing techniques.

That is why he didn't do much more with the 9 tails, because he was waiting on the 4th.

Kabuto did not say that - he said something in reference to his chakra, I believe it was that he had a huge amount or that it was very unique or something to that order because he like any person from his family was a senju. Kabuto never said that Hashirama was the strongest hokage.

No matter how you look at it, he DID take on the first and second Hokage along with Orochimaru, and took down two out of three at a very old age.

The problem is Hiruzen has never actually shown a certain type of KKG which is extremely powerful or has never done something "great/epic" for example:

Hashirama: Ended wars, fought Madara and the Kyuubi, founded Konoha, could handle Bijuu's like pets (he had like what? 7 Bijuu's in his control or something like that?) Superhuman strength (I think he is stronger then Tsunade or atleast equal in terms of strength)
Mokuton Jutsus (the clones only Madara could see through with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan) the Scroll of Seals which contained alot of Kinjutsus, leader of the Senju clan along with the Uchiha's they were the most feared clans.

Tobirama: Master in Suiton Jutsus, did Water Dragon Bullet Jutsu in 1 handseal, creator of Edo Tensei (some time later after he created it he labelled it as a Kinjutsu so he didn't master it himself, but he did use it because Muu knows about it)
By just touching the ground he could detect how many enemies there were around.
He had S/T Ninjutsu

Defeated Tobi, making him retreat and foiling his plans, sealed Kyuubi and so on...

I think Kishi tacked that on Hiruzen solely to give the story some gravity, and is meant to imply that whoever ends up as Hokage has a big pair of shoes to fill in, but as a character the guy has shown nothing at all indicating he was the best Hokage

he said the people that heard about hashirama considered him as fairy tale as well as sageof6paths. who ever said he was the smartest. i dnt even see him as smart. hes just a manipulator.
