I know this would never happen but isn't possible to teleport to a normal kunai by using the substitution on it. Since this justsu allows you to switch places with the desired object, can you put a kunai somewhere and the substitute with it?

If this a were true then the hiraishin would be all but useless.

Substitution is merely high-speed movement within a close range, whereas Hiraishin is instantaneous teleportation to anywhere with a marking. They don't exactly work the same, and you wouldn't have time to replace yourself with a kunai in a battle against a high-class opponent. At that level, they'd probably be able to keep up with the substitution movements.

Not really. FTG is meant to catch your opponent off guard, but in order to use it you have something in close contact with the mark, or have them with the mark. It would be a bad idea to switch with a kunai in a lot of situations seeing as how you can just use the kunai and slice 'em. The only reason you would replace the kunai is if the ninja is a pro at kinjutsu, a surprise attack on an opponent who expects direct connect from long range, or if you have a piercing jutsu prepared, such as Raikage's dad's spear, Chidori variations, Rasengan variations, or Torune's? killer bugs. It would just depend on the situation. Also it's best to keep in mind that the kunai could be used against you later on as a way to lure you to your enemy, who can use the kunai against you.

The technique requires two Hirashin users to use the technique simultaneously.

I'm talking about substituting with a normal kunai. When was I talking about that technique?

no its not other wise it wouldn't require four handseals, second in the kakashi vs zabuza fight, two high class ninja's used it repeatedly.
third it doesn't have the range.

Not sure where you got all this info from.
