Who cares about combat/usefulness, both are fodder compared to actual main characters (i.e. Naruto, Sasuke etc). Hinata is nothing more than pairing fodder, he character was literally created to exist as another love interest. Sakura was intended as a heroine, the author failed miserably to follow intent. Which is better? Both seem pretty shtty characters to me, Im only bothered less by Hinata because she gets less panel time.

Sharingan Kakashi = gai sensei

Well said,those statements are true.

Hinata is a side character of course her point in the plot is well...TenTen level.What you said about Sakura is true if he got to see ino or Hinata more than Sakura,people wouldn't dislike her as much.

Dojutsu's will own any taijutsu user, beleive it! Hinata is probably the one on her team who'll become jonin first, judging by what's currently happening in the manga.
