Hinata vastly outperformed him by pushing a stronger Path to use their powers.

As a close combat elite and with a Byakugan, she counters any options he has, either with close combat or traps and tricks. A single Air Palm should be enough for him.

The pains are all generally comparable in terms of attack speed as they all tagged jiraya at the same time and they kept up with kakashi about the same
Co-operation. We saw Kakashi and Gai keep up with KCM Naruto in the fight against Obito. Would you give them the same credit?

There's no need to go all out when the opponent is almost dead.

Forcing defence seems better to me than mutual attacking.
I disagree as pein was never once pressured during his fight with hinata even when she got mere fingertips away from him unlike ebisu where he was serious, The entire time

That is because he was outright defending.

A guy with a shield has less pressure against a sword than a guy without a shield against fists.
