Alright, Hinata had a near death experience during the invasion of Pain arc when Hinata jump to Narutos aid when he was pin down by Pains rods and she got stabbed by Deva Path almost killing her. Hinata second near death experience occurred during the recent chapters when the ten tails target Naruto, Hinata jump in front acted as a human shield she was prepared to die to protect Naruto, but Neji intercepted the attack. Hinata role in this story is Naruto, by that I mean Hinata character development pretty much circle around Narutos threw the whole story, like Kallen character circles around Lelouch in code geass.
