While I agree with this I think there are some things that aren't considered in this argument.

1: Effort =/= Strength. I think Shikamaru is a prime example of this. He put Hidan to shame, yet at the same time he doesn't really like being a ninja, and lazes about most of the time.

2: The Pain arc was a long time ago, and the characters that were in said arc have since then developed into stronger, more competent ninja, this includes both Hinata and Sakura.

3: While I agree that at the very least in the Pain arc Hinata tried to help Naruto, that...really doesn't say much. She didn't demonstrate any feats against Pain that would have turned the tides of any argument. The biggest part of that interference was her confession to Naruto

Even while failing Hinata still showed more guts and will power to stand up to Pein. While Sakura cried for Naruto to save the day. Fact is she tried while the other did nothing but watch. Realisticslly she was never gonna hurt Pein. He was too powerful.

This is true, I completely agree. And I also agree that if it had been Sakura instead of Hinata at that time, the results would not have changed.
But what I'm saying is, in the context of the debate over who is stronger, Hinata jumping in alone doesn't say much, mainly because she didn't do much.

Nobody was a match for Pain though as Shaz explained. The characters have grown. How did Sakura grow since then? She got byaguko seal, which OP dealt with.

She is stronger by showing more guts and will power to someone who she could not beat. While all the other could do was cry for a savior. This is more of a morale vctory than a physical one. Since realistically Hinata was never gonna put a dent on Pein. Yet she still fought him knowing she could possibly die. Her efforts were not wasted since Naruto tapped into the ninetails to fight Pein.

If you look at the situation and circumstances. She was the hero.

@bolded: Well that's the point. And I had also brought up that Sakura would have suffered the same fate if it were her. I was just saying that Hinata jumping in alone doesn't say too much about her overall prowess because there wasn't much for her to show off there. Sure she tried, though.

I was going to say Sakura has some impressive maneuver/dodge feats, and was going to point out the needles in her sasori fight, but then I cant quite remember if that was her, or if that was her being manipulated by chiyo. I dont remember when that was activated. agh. so much for that. Also sorry if I seem like I'm coming up with excuses, just giving the benefit of the doubt...if that makes any sense.

I agree with you for the most part. Doing something is better than doing nothing though. There are certain things you'd have to consider before jumping in against Pain. Your strength, his etc. Hinata practically allowed Naruto to win that fight and even if she didn't help him go 9 tails, she was still a good distraction, or she stalled or SOMETHING.

My first post was just a response to the guy scrapping the bottom of the barrel and acting as if Hinata was a fodder for losing to Pain, when in reality, everyone else was a fodder in that regard. Including Sakura, thus his attempt at downplaying Hinata was futile.
