Hinata Doesn't want to be a Ninja

I was talking with a friend about Hinata and it really got me thinking about her. While I do know that she works hard and has improved a lot, I don't think she actually wants to be a ninja.

I really think hinata just plays ninja. i dont think she really wants to be one. She only does it to gain the respect of her dad, neji, and naruto. she needs to be honest with herself.

Oh for sure. I was thinking of this a while ago too. I think its just mostly about teaching the top tree in the clan how to defend themselves. Well as far as Hinata anyways.

do you believe everyone loves to throw kunais, working their asses so they can learn some ninjutsu (remember in order to learn nature manipulation one needs to train for 6 months). there is only few people who would like that.

and about the respect part. naruto keeps saying "I'll be hokage and everyone will acknowledge me."
so according to your logic naruto doesn't want to be a hokage.

gaara's reason to become kazekage "I want to be needed by people around me." so he just wants people to need him. he doesn't want to be a kazekage either.

sasuke first become a ninja because he was an uchiha, an elite shinobi clan, then his reason changed to killing itachi. he just plays ninja so that he can kill itachi.


if you look at that you can olny find a hundred shinobi amongst the 100000 who just wants to become a ninja

I dont think she does. She never shows any pride in simply being a ninja. Whenever she talks about it its always for the sake of one of those 3. Even when they didnt really consider her to be a leader in the war she was just "yeah I understand" not "Im going to prove myself as a konoichi and be a strong shinobi worthy of leading this clan".

Maybe so but Naruto has always showed interest in learning new techniques and such just to know them because he enjoys being a shinobi. He puts his dream of being hokage off a lot. He wants both.

Sasuke likes hurting things so yes while he wanted respect from his father and itachi, i think being strong and skilled does give him some satisfaction. But hes just an unhappy insane person anyway so theres no telling with him.

I think Gaara's path was forced on him but now he can understand love and all the goodness and does want to hone his skills. But he was chasing respect too. I dont have a clear stance on Gaara since hes only ever shown happiness once.

There are a good number that I think actually want to be shinobi, some that I dont think they do. I specifically said Hinata though cos I think she doesnt want to the most. Cept for maybe Tenten whos always dragging her feet.

Yeah everyone needs a reason, but naruto actually values being a good ninja. If hinata felt she could gain the respect she craves from being a cook, she'd do that. Thats her true love of activities.
