i believe him realizing that he was wrong,finally opening up to his friends,completely changing,genuinely apologizing for all he did,and personally thanking her for all that she's done - not giving up on him,always trying to help him - makes up for him attacking her out of anger a few times back when he had hatred and put revenge above everything else.
