We gone see when we see, no point in debating rn
It’s those who believe it’s foreshadow of her potential, and those who think it’s comedy relief
^^^Pretty much this.
Unfortunately, from the looks of it Himawari is not becoming a shinobi. In fact, we've seen no signs of her even being in the academy and she is 10 - 11 years old now.
Even worse, though I hate to fuel the pleasure of the Naruto/Boruto haters, but it seems that Himawari's purpose in this story is simply to suffer and eventually die for Boruto's (and maybe Kawaki's) development.
Look at the evidence:
Himawari suffers because Naruto misses her birthday party - used as a plot point to fuel Boruto's anger towards Naruto.
Himawari's vase gets broken - used to develop the relationship between Boruto and Kawaki.
Then of course the most significant of them all:
"Those blue eyes will take everything from you" - Momoshiki Otsutsuki to Boruto.
This most likely includes Himawari.
Sorry to say, but we probably won't get to see Himawari's potential.
Honestly, ever since the original Boruto movie, I always felt that it would have been better if Kishi wrote Boruto and Himawari as twins so that Himawari could be a part of the new gen main cast as well.
