Only partially true. It's circumstantial and subjective. As I see here locally- a man ends up in jail - chances are higher that his family will stand by him and he will have a place to go to when he comes out. That they will get help for him as much as they can. That he may even get married even while in jail. And so on..

Forget about parole, many females here are still being taken care of by the jail authorities out of kindness even years after their term was over simply because they have no where to go anymore. None will take them back and they have almost no chance of a proper life outside. Husbands dumped them and kids don't want to be associated. No friends no families to turn to and they lack most skills and resources to get a new life beyond the stigma.

However, I can't agree with him at all as women are so vital to our society and I couldn't live without them. I was raised by a single mother and she fulfilled the responsibilities of a father and a mother to the best of her abilities. My mom is the best person I know and she is the most selfless person who helps anyone in need and puts her children and others above herself.

That's why I am glad I was raised in Canada, where women are treated much better overall than the middle east and other areas.
