Physically, he is a tall man with a somewhat angular face and a phenomenally developed physique. His hair is jet black and long, and usually kept in a pony tail. His attire consists of a set of black pants with European styled boots, and a short sleeved shirt, colored blue in the anime and red in the manga. Hiko is shown to be very sarcastic, egotistical and a punishing taskmaster, often referring to Kenshin as "my stupid/idiot apprentice," and bringing up embarrasing incidents in Kenshin's past to provoke him into training harder. Kenshin describes his personality as "crude, cruel, and hateful." He dislikes socialization, and in order to avoid having to work with people, he makes his living as a pottery artist alone on a mountain (a profession that he is reported to excel at). He also comes off as somewhat lazy, professing to have retrained Kenshin to save himself the bother of dealing with Shishio, and complaining about protecting Kenshin's friends. Despite this rough exterior, he has a deep sense of responsibility to Kenshin and those he protects in the rare cases when he does get involved. He loves sake, himself, and teasing Kenshin, and while he is frequently seen drinking copious amounts of sake alone, he never becomes drunk. He and Kenshin frequently have bouts of slapstick conflict between them. His philosophy as a swordsman is that the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryū should be used to protect people from suffering, but only if it is used independently from any political power. Also, unlike Kenshin, he appears to have absolutely no compunctions about killing his enemies, as seen during his first meeting with Kenshin when he slaughters a group of murderous bandits in cold blood. Additionally, during his fight with Fuji, he seems to spare him somewhat incidentally, commenting that Fuji survived his attack simply because he was so large. He also seems to possess considerable insight, wisdom, and foresight. He was correctly able to predict exactly what would happen to Kenshin if he participated in the revolution, was able to correctly identify Kenshin's psychological problems during their second training, and was able to both explain to Kenshin what was wrong and help him overcome it. Also, during his confrontation with Fuji, he correctly identified Fuji's despair at being so freakishly large that people saw him as a monster and not a warrior, and helped him overcome it by giving him a respectful opponent that he need not hold back against.

Description and Background: The Goshawk is a medium large Bird of prey. It is a raptor with short, broad wings and a long tail, both adaptations to manoeuvring through trees in the forests it lives and nests in. Across most of the species's range, it is blue-grey above and barred grey or white below, but subspecies in particular range from nearly white overall to nearly black above. The juvenile is brown above and barred brown below. Juveniles and adults have a barred tail, with dark brown or black barring. Adults always have a white eye stripe. Juveniles have pale-yellow eyes, and adults develop dark red eyes usually after their second year, although nutrition and genetics may affect eye color as well. They have a great wingspan, and adults are known to be able to carry humans. The are very vicious, and their baks are strong enough to tear flesh.

•History:
Hiko Seijuro was born in the heart of Konoha. He was raised in the Nara Clan, a mysterious group of intelligent Shinboi's with a secret ability. Growing up, Hiko wasn't interested on his clan's abilites. He would rather play with a stick as he imagined it as a sword. As a young boy, Hiko had an adopted brother named Shimazu Toyohisa. Interested in swordsmanship too, they became good friends. They played with sticks and pretended like they were fighting with swords. Disgusted by this, His parents threw him out when he was 21. Hiko then traveled north to where his grandpa was, who knew almost everything about swordsmanship. Staying there, Hiko become fond with swordsmanship, carrying his katana almost everywhere. He also started working out and getting fit of course. Hearing of this non sense, Hiko's parents weren't happy.
At night, Hiko's father ordered a few men to kill his grandpa and take Hiko captive. He knew the plan and he wanted to leave Konoha with his grandpa but it was too late. His grandpa was stabbed through the heart by a kunai. Hiko viciously murdered the men in pieces, leaving blood everywhere on the road and buildings. After that night Hiko left Konohaa without any hesitations.

•Nara Clan: The Nara clan is known for their intelligence, manipulation of shadows, and tending of deer, which graze in a large area of the Nara clan forest. They have kept a book with medicine preparations and effects for generations which imply they are skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi clan. Despite being considered overly intelligent and tactical, the men from this family are prone to being lazy and hard to motivate, but once the situation calls for it, they are very determined and loyal. Ironically, they tend to be attracted to stern, overbearing women. However, there appear to be other factors as well. The Nara men seem to hold women in high esteem, and as a result, willingly defer to their female partners. The Nara are on of the original clans that the Senju gathered together to form the basis of the Hidden Leaf.
The Shadow Manipulation talents of the Nara Clan allow them to take physical control of another individual via their shadow. This allows them to forcibly manipulate them into mimicking their movements, or merely hold them in place in order to prevent them from fighting. There are two big weaknesses of this technique, the first being that it effectively paralyzes the user as well since they're actions are limited while bound to someone else, and the second being that it requires the presence of shadows in the first place. Because of this it can be overcome quite easily with a strategically placed flash bomb or other light source.
•Katon | Fire: Being the first element Hiko has been taught under, he excelled over the mastery of Katon so much that he can preform jutsus with one handseal.
•Fuuton | Wind: His 4th element that Hiko has learned. His sensei Better wanted Hiko to become stronger, completing jutsus almost everyday. By the time they were done, Hiko become fond with Fuuton and can form handseals 2x faster.
