Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni fans

So far in this anime I've made it to 9 episodes. It's great and gives you an eerie feeling about every character you meet in that anime since most of them are F****** crazy B******. But I have a question. With all this happening is there a real story? Or just a bunch of different arcs with one similar concept of the Shrine God? For all I know it could be soon to judge on that xD Thanks for all the replies in advance! I love this show so far aha.

I know how you feel, I was very confused until I got to Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai yesterday and it all made sense. Just keep watching and remember what happens in every arc, it's a great ONE big story!

I'm now at episode 16 at Kai and I'm enjoying it very much and I think I'll rewatch it all pretty soon to remember everything that happened in every single arc.
