so anyone here drop out of highschool? so for those that didn't finish it how is it going for you right now?
since i plan on dropping out, also to take the ged did i have to study middle school in the USA? since i was born in the USA, but study middle school in mexico

I wouldn't drop out when you're in middle school. If you know for a fact that you have a solid game plan you know will work and won't just fall to the wayside of life, go for it. If you're just doing cause you're lazy, deal with it. Life will be more bearable by leagues. If the plan is a GED, just stay in highschool.

Plus, employers and colleges will be looking at that. They'll say "He dropped out and got a GED and did nothing else? He must have a hard time following instructions and is most likely a slack person."


Statistically, people who graduate from highschool do way better than drop outs.

just go see a school counselor and tell them you are having trouble in school and your teachers will be forced to pass you with C's
schools can only fail so many kids per year and it makes them look bad when it happens so hold in there
life outside high school only gets harder
the only real excuse to drop out is if you or someone in your family needs medical or financial help

You'll be setting yourself up for failure. Most jobs you can make a living off of require a college diploma. You don't want to jump into the work force right out of highschool.

I dropped out my senior year because I eventually came to the conclusion that school wasn't for me and it seemed like a bunch of bs. Fortunately i'm doing well actually but I wouldn't recommend dropping out unless you have a good job lined up like I did lol.

Dropping out because you have 2 years left, only to have to take GED courses for at least a year, to get a less respected degree just to go to college and go down a career path anyway is retarded.

I doubt many colleges accept GED recipients. If they do, it'll be very few at that. Your next step would be to community college which is literally just high school.

I think the main point of high school you're missing out on is that it's more so to prepare you for the next level in life, which ideally would be college. So skipping high school because it's boring and going straight to college after getting your GED is a huge waste of time because you'll be so far behind your peers.
