They are just novels, branching from the main Naruto series, under the creator of Takashi Yano. Kishi still has his hands on the project though.

It alrights, being a good read, but I'm not interested in them.

I always wondered if Gaara would hook up with Matsuri... Looking forward to read his and Sakura's and the Akatsuki's.
