Well, after one is launched upwards, that is the chance to retaliate. I'd use a Sound scream to blast you as you come, or use that omni-directional blast of Sound to "push" the chains back. One could use Earth armor perhaps? Or drastically increase my own weight to fall to the ground faster, and escape the spinning cyclone of chains by going underground. Just a few I could think of xD

Nice. I would also probably increase the weight of the chains while wrapped around an opponent making it hard for them to move them
