Did anyone expect something more from Hidan? Even though he was the weakest of the Akatsuki I thought he would of at least had something more threatening. Believe me his jutsu is threatening but it can be countered so easily. Maybe it's just me but I wish he had something else.

In an interview, Kubo stated he was going to show his backstory and develop his fights, weapons and techniques to those similar to Sasori and Shurado, but his editors told him to rush him, probably because they were greedy and wanted him to get to the Itachi arc as soon as possible to make their big bucks from it.

In an interview, Kubo stated he was going to show his backstory and develop his fights, weapons and techniques to those similar to Sasori and Shurado, but his editors told him to rush him, probably because they were greedy and wanted him to get to the Itachi arc as soon as possible to make their big bucks from it.

I was expecting more from the entire akatsuki, Kishimoto should have saved them for this war arc and boosted their abilities 3x over.

In terms of character - Hidan was nothing special. Just a crazed religious fanatic psycopath who liked killing people, there was nothing very deep about him.

In terms of abilities - the guy had enormous potential. His ritual is one of the few things that potentially could have taken down very OP villains like Obito and Madara. Imagine the combos he could do with other characters (FTG + Curse ritual anyone?) Or Kakashi could send him to the kamui dimension where he could prepare his ritual and wait for Kakashi to deliver him some blood.

But he still has to have the blood of his enemies to be in full effect. Long ranged jutsus could easily deal with him.

which was threatening in and of itself. Think about it, you can't approach him because he is immortal, and ontop of that he just needs one drop of blood from you. Not a fair trade off at all. You had to fight defensively when facing him for this reason.

And he is just underestimated tbh, because of the way he lost. He is someone who is capable of taking down Bijuus with his abilities.

That was actually pretty interesting in my opinion. I wish Kishi had gone more in depth about Jashin himself; maybe he could have even served as Hagoromo's brother. Where Hagoromo brought peace and order to the Shinobi world, Jashin looked to rip apart the fabric that kept it together - Hidan could have served as his reincarnation.
