Hidan has great taijutsu, which is madaras soft spot. Just a fraction is all he needs to perform his ritual . So there's a chance, no one ever gives a character the chance if they are not their favorite.

No need, cause Madara is far superior to Kakashi or Sasuke in CQC simply because has the Gunbai at his disposal, which repels attacks, can cleave a human being in half and whatnot.
