Guy was beating Kakashi in their little games lol. Only in the anime was Kakashi beating Guy by like 2 or 3. Hidan only got one kick on Kakashi though. If they were to have continued fighting 1 on 1 Kakashi would have owned him. He was distracted by Kakuzu's monsters.

Yeah base Gai, the one that was facing Obito's CQC Kamui better than KCM Naruto could do, using only his taijutsu skills and reaction, neg diffs Asuma. And disarms Hidan with his legs, as he did with Kisame.

And Hidan didn't do anything. He couldn't lay a finger on Kakashi that was easily fending him with a mere kunai against a giant scythe, with an injured arm (from Naruto's Fuuton training), while having to dodge Kakuzu's ninjutsu attacks and keeping an eye on the team 10.

Not in this manga. Kakashi is that strong that his speed + Raiton ninjutsu applied to CQC + Sharingan precognition make him comparable to 6th Gate Gai. To compare with 7th Gate he obviously needs the Mangekyo Sharingan with Kamui hax and to compare with 8th Gate he needs his double Mangekyo with all Kamui powers + Perfect Susanoo, and I still think Gai would come on top if starting the fight in 8th Gate already, his Night Guy feat against Juubi jinchuriki Madara is out of the Narutoverse world... bending the space with sheer speed, come on.

On topic, ofc base Gai stomps Hidan. Far far far faster, far far far stronger, far far far more skilled in taijutsu, far far far better reactions etc
