I used to think he's one of the strongest akatsuki until I joined the base to discover that he is so underrated.

He's immortal ..
He's so skilled ..
He never feared any enemy ..
He killed asuma within one shot ..
Kakuzu was afraid of him and he said he can't kill hidan ..
He said he will kill pain after he finished with konoha's ninja ..
He lost because he was careless not because he was weak ..
Also he managed to capture 2nd tailed jinchircki easily ..
Hidan deserves to be in top25~35 ..
Databook gave him high score 31.5/40 ..
He didn't become an akatsuki member from nothing ..

Whilst i've spent most of NB nailing this guy, I completely agree. I've been working on an in-depth analysis on his abilities for a VS Death Battle video and it's as if Kishi actively wanted to restrict this guy. Making him the 'slowest of Akatsuki' is hard to believe AND makes no sense to give him considering his close-range fighting style.

He's a VERY situational ninja and regardless of ability, the fact that Kishimoto's editors never gave him time to expand his abilities results in him being a complete one-trick pony.

Unless you've got special conditions such as flight (Deidara, Sai, Onoki, Konan) unbreakable skin (Kakazu, Kidomaru) or other good match-ups then yeah, Hidan will probably shock you and catch you offguard. It's just he's naturally crap at 1V1 match-ups due to his simplicity 'hit or miss' style and attitude as he requires Kakazu for healing.

Madara? Sasuke? Naruto? Don't be stupid now though. Hidan's attitude and reckless personality is PART of him. You can't take that away from him without creating a new fan-fic character.
