Probably because team 2 consists of the base's least favorite characters.

OT: I actually think team 2 has some good counters to them. But could Ino really take control of the masks?

well you have a 2 vs 2.5 & the support given from .5 is dependent upon the tactical ninjutsu prowess of the konoha 2, which is nonexistent >_<'

So essentially, this is a cqc battle w/ the konoha 2 losing vs the akatsuki 2 & the .5 being a helpless bystander
