Hiashi, the most powerful amongst the Hyuuga clan VS Gai. In terms of taijutsu, with his skill in byakugan, Hizashi can take guy down.
With a singe strike, Hiashi can end Gai's life in an instant or cripple him. Gai would be forced to use his Gates and Hiashi's Heavenly Rotation can repel almost any attack, but by then, Hiashi would have either already locked up Gai's chakra points to where he cannot use the inner gates.

Third Gate Gai could probably take him pretty easily.

You assume that the byakugan gives the weilder precognitive abilities like the sharingan, it only gives the user 360 view, he might be able to see it coming, but he certainly isn't stopping it

So I'm guessing everyone pro Gai is saying that Hiashi has to stand there allowing Gai to enter his Gates right...

What makes you think he doesn't fight like Neji, one who keeps a field of chakra surrounding himself, which intercepts attacks before it reaches him, thus signaling him to start Kaiten?

Considering his casual Air Wall Palm trumps the size of Hirudora.... I'd actually say he has a chance. The Byakugan has fairly high tracking abilities. Firstly, we saw Neji using it when following the movements of Lee using the Gates on Gaara . So Neji as a genin without full knowledge on the Byakugan's power was capable of watching these speeds. A veteran and Byakugan master like Hiashi should be able to keep up with extreme speeds.

Secondly, the Byakugan is keen in picking out distinct movements amongst blurs of motion. During the fight against the Juubi, while dodging a rainstorm of Juubi spikes, Hinata could indicate one spike that would be a risk to Naruto and eliminate it... showing an extreme level of 3-Dimensional analysis. Considering the spikes could effortlessly pierce the human body, they had at least a decent speed... now obviously not on Gates level, but nonetheless it was fast moving.

Secondly, Lee mentioned that Jyuken itself is the ultimate style of Taijutsu (at least in the Hidden Leaf). This would mean that in theory, even with his gates, Lee has admitted his Iron Style is inferior.

Given how Hiashi could go through two days of near nonstop fighting including combat against his brother who could close chakra points, and still be dishing out the scale of Air Palm he did was ridiculously impressive.

I'd say Hiashi gives Gai a good run for his money.

The ONLY logical counter argument so far. I was just testing the members on here..And boy am I ashamed.

Not really, the guy that fought Kisame was more than enough to stomp Hiashi. It's as blatantly obvious as Naruto beating Iruka...
