Heroes cancelled, shame.

I know I might(must be) in the minority on this one but I really liked Heores and the stories Tim Kring was telling. Heroes consistently had some of the better special effects for powers among tv superpowered shows, it had some of the better story lines being told in super hero tv, it was all around one of the most comic-like shows done for tv imo(which may be why so many casual fans of the genre didn't care for it)

Anyone else on here like the Heores stories? I hope Kring doesn't get discouraged from the repeated cancellations, I think he writes good stuff, I'd like to see Heroes continue as straight to dvd movies like Futurama was doing after it's repeated cancellations.

That's another thing how does stuff like Futurama and Heores get cancelled but Simpsons/Family Guy and Agents stay on while Futurama and Heores(which have far better written plots) fall to the wayside? Seriously Heroes Reborn had one of the nicest twists I've seen in a long time with the character Tommy and that's all I say so I don't spoil it for any one that feels encouraged to start the series(if you do watch the first 4 seasons of Heroes, yes even the carnival one, which really wasn't as bad as people act)

I was a fan of all the seasons apart from the terrible S3 and the new revival wasn't fantastic either.

Agreed with you though, with some better writers and a huge tidy up Heroes could've easily remained great.

I thought it had a pretty solid story behind it and while not as dark it was just as grim if not more so than the others. 1st season with Sylar was dark, absolutely but we never knew how the world would be doomed by Sylar achieving his goal, while Reborn we know how grim the future is if they fail. Heroes left that a mystery, did Sylar kill everyone, enslave humans kill all evos, destroy the world... we just don't know so all in all the end result if Sylar wins may not have been as grim as all of Earth's populace minus a handful of people being wiped out for around 5,000 years.

Also when comparing them consider Heroes got more time to tell more stories. Idk if they planned this to be a one and done or not but it kind of felt like it, as if maybe Kring expected it to not catch on. Have you seen all of Reborn? I thought they did some interesting things with Tommy and Noah. In general though I like Kring's writing and I'd be very interested to see what he could do with a movie series or an uninterrupted series(the first go hit a snag with the writer strike and this one couldn't really get a fair shot as it was facing criticism for awhile before it's debut), Netflix we need you now.

Now, I didn't watch the show. I just didn't get into Heroes as I just never watched it, but I am sad it was canceled as I am a huge fan of Robbie Kay. Fantastic actor. I hear great things about early Heroes and Reborn, one of my friends is a huge fan of it, so it seemed to have been really good. It just fell into the same vein as Hannibal. Awesome show, but cancelled for I assume rating issues and yet shows that should have ended are still on. At least both shows got to tell the stories they wanted to and get a pretty solid finish (in Hannibal's case, it had a perfect ending as they had notice they were ending. From what I can gather, HR was able to wrap it up and still tease a bit as well) That is annoying, but hey, what can you do? Ratings beats quality sometimes. Trust me, I know. I LOVED Constantine and it was canceled really, really early on. No special ending like Hannibal or anything.
