So, Hemlock Grove S2 is bad and here's why. SPOILERS ABOUND.

First off, my BIG complaint is what they did or better yet, didn't do with Christina. She was one of my favorite characters and after the cliff hangover for season 1, I expected her to be a major player in season 2. Not the major villain, but a threat in the shadows like Malcolm Merlyn in Arrow. The main villain in season 1 and someone in the shadows throughout season 2. I was so hyped to see her and she got SHIT ON this season. She was one episode, like episode 4 or 5, an opening for that matter as well, for a total of like 50 seconds. She was killed by Shelley, which was a cool idea but done TOO EARLY. SUCH A LET DOWN TO AN AMAZING CHARACTER. Her body ending up like the ones she mutilated was very cool, but again, an awesome concept blown way way way too early. A BIG THUMBS DOWN.
Next off, another let down that was hyped from season 1's finale! Sheriff Tom! I expected him to be a major good guy, an anarchist perhaps. Hell, i thought he was the main villain from the opening in episode 1. I thought he would try to blow up the White Tower or something, but no. He, a major character with a cliff hanger, was mentioned WITH A THROW AWAY LINE. "Oh, the last sheriff went crazy and blew himself up!" Seriously, WOW. What a let down!
My third big complaint was Olivia. An amazing character with her perfect evil attitude. That character was only there for one episode this season! She was being all good and not herself, which is a good idea, but was done too early and it felt out of character. Also, her revival was, in my opinion, going to be epic! Her encounter with Roman, her son who KILLED HER, should've been SHOCKING AND EPIC, not an "Oh, hey mom." sort of thing. It was such a let down! SO MANY LET DOWNS!
EVEN MORE LET DOWNS BELOW!
Michael was a let down. He had a cool presence and attitude and I liked him being the sheriff, but HE DID NOTHING. His sister was way more interesting. He could have been done so much better. Again, he was hyped, but let down. There was no real confrontation with him and Roman. A joke.
Peter & Roman haven't seen each other for many months. Two best friends split apart. They were close and one of the BIG scenes in the finale of season 1 was Roman being so sad about Peter leaving. Guess what? Their meeting in season 2 was rushed and not close to being epic. I didn't want or needed to see a fight. Fists would've been welcome, but I wanted something emotional. Roman should have been yelling at him, maybe crying, just letting his pain out. We NEVER got a scene like that. Another issue with their relationship was they had very little scenes together.
But they did have scenes with Miranda, a character who was okay, but I HATED the idea of them having 3 way relationship. I hate love triangles and I hate them arguing and I hate them, first time it's ever happened, all getting along. Yeah, I like the idea of Roman and Peter getting together. They are connected and have chemistry, but all that aside, this was STUPID. Add in that stupid motherly deal Miranda was doing with that baby, which has awesome blue eyes by the way, it was STUPID. At least they both got served in the end.
Speaking of the end....It was not good. Now, I was happy that Olivia was actually acting like herself and the whole monster deal, but the doctor being the final villain was a joke. He was hardly in the season. it wasn't a twist. It was just sad. Speaking of sad villains, the two drug dudes were awesome and NEVER showed up again after their incident with balls.
Also, the preacher main guy was awesome and he was killed off. Such a bad mistake in my opinion. Him being in the shadows would be really cool.
Now, not everything was a let down. Norman was the best character. He was sort of boring in season one, but he was my favorite by far in season 2. Pryce was awesome. Shelley was great. I hated the notion of killing her off, which they nearly did with the whole mapping brain deal, but they saved it. Roman was cool, as was Peter. We didn't get to see Peter's awesome mom at all. I really liked her too. Getting more Destiny was cool and her new boyfriend was cool. The villain group was cool But all these positives all clearly shadowed by these BIG BIG BIG NEGATIVES. This season could've been an awesome season 5 or something later on, obviously changing some things, but it's A SHIT SEASON 2.
Do yourself a favor if you loved Hemlock Grove season 1, like I did, and don't watch this. It's one big let down after another. I'm done with this series. I'm sad. Atleast I'll always have season 1. I was glad to experience that. Atleast I still have fanfiction!
