Except it isn't. The description for the Water technique specifically states that it is a very thin jet of water, not a large wave. So you have nothing to worry about.

Now, I have another scenario. Let's say for reason, you have been blinded. For example, the opponent has used a smoke or a mist technique. Being unable to locate your opponents position can extremely dangerous so my question for you is, what Sand technique would you use in a situation like this?

What Sand technique would you use if for some reason, your sense of sight has been hindered?

Sensor Sand is an excellent choice. The Third Eye Technique however would not work because it is linked to your eyesight. The only situation when the using the Third Eye Technique in a scenario like this would be smart would be when/if only you are inside the mist and your opponent is outside. In a situation like that, you could direct the Third Eye outside the mist and then monitor your opponent.

Alright, we'll discuss all of Gaaras canon jutsu at the moment.

Before we do so, heres something you should keep in mind. Almost all of the 'best' RPers try their best to stay in character whenever they are RPing. For example, Pervy Sage mostly uses Fire whenever he RPs with his Natsu Bio. You will rarely ever see him using all of the Basic 5 Elements

So, how about this. To try to stay as much as possible in character, how about you focus on using Sand/Wind/Earth when you RP as Gaara? How does that sound? If you agree, I'll continue from here on discussing each Sand Technique and how you can use them in conjunction with Earth and Wind.

Alright, so I'll post the first four Sand Release Techniques. I'll explain them and how you should use them in battle. What you have to do is perform them. Alright?

(Daisan No Me) - The Third Eye

Description: The user creates a eye out of sand.This eye is then connected by an invisible link to the optic nerve thus allowing he user to see with that eye (connect eye must be closed) The eye must remain close to the user but has a seeing range of 20/20 vision.
Note: Only Sand users can use this jutsu

I believe I've already explained this technique to you. It allows you to spy on others although I suppose that would be of little use in a battle. During a battle, I would suggest that the first technique you use is this one. Send it 8m upwards and then position it to monitor the battlefield. This will allow you to watch and observe from above, and on ground level. So lets say if suddenly something attacks you from behind, the eyes from above will be able to see them and you will know about it.

(Suna no Jutsu) - Sand Technique

Description: Sand is manipulated to create small waves that can bruise an opponent or small shields that can deflect kunai.

This is a rather weak technique and I doubt it would be of much use during a battle. I suppose you could use it to deflect incoming kunai. You can also use this to stop C Rank and below Taijutsu/Fire/Earth/Raw Chakra techniques.

(Suna Hokori Sākuru) - Sand Dust Circle

Description: Gaara manipulates his sand to create a spinning pillar of sand rise up from beneath the opponent and lift them into the air.

This is a simple pillar technique. Not of much use, though I suppose you can use it to lift yourself up into the air as well. Not of much use really since you know, we're currently in D Ranks.

(Funsui no Maisō Hokori) - Fountain Burial Dust

Description: Gaara manipulates his chakra to generate multiple small pillars of sand to rise up from the ground beneath the target and lifting them into the air.

This is basically just like the previous technique. Both involve creating pillars and lifting your enemy into the air. So yeah, thats about it.


Now perform each of these as good as you can.​

Remember, what will make you a better sand user isn't how many jutsu you have nor how overpowered they are. It's by using what you have and making the most of it. One thing I've learned from years of observation is the key to winning a battle isn't by using OP techniques but how you survive them and use them against your enemy.

One thing to keep in mind is the cliche, "What would Gaara do? He's smart, yes, but a large part of his success is by remaining stationary and observing his enemies. People, even in real life, are impatient. You give them time and they will make a mistake without you having to lift a finger. Just have confidence in yourself and there is nothing you can't do.
