I recently installed windows 7 ultimate i my system and for several months it has been working fine and my system is running smoothly suddenly today after maybe a few windows update i see a message saying an error and that my windows 7 is not genuine, it now shows on the down right corner of my desktop that

Windows 7
build 7601
this windows is not genuine .

What do i do and how do i cure this error i dont have cash to upgrade and it was working fine hours ago what do i do?

I hate to say it, but you might have installed a boot-legged version of Windows. So basically a version someone simply copied, or one that's fake >_<

You should install a copy bought in-store, or online and the message should go away

you need to register your Win7, using the CD key on the back of the DVD case, it came with. Or just contact the Microsoft online support and purchase a CD Key!

Thank God. I used windows 7 loader and ran as administrator and it seems to be working , is this permanent or would it go back to not being genuine in no time?

It works alright. Just make sure you have windows update switched off and never ever update your windows.

Actually now that doesn't matter.With the newer ones you can update your windows.
