Ok so here's the deal. I have a huge mosquito problem. I barely slept last night and had like 30 bites in 2 hours, no joke. These *****es are fast, small (nearly invisible) and don't make a sound at all. To top it off they seem to have mutated to the point where nothing can ****ing hurt them. I took 2 of those electronic devices (the stuff that drives them away forgot the name) and put them right next to myself and guess what? 30 bites mother****er!

Maybe the devices are shit or maybe these ****ers are some kind of superpowered ninjas but damn they hurt me. So, before they eat me alive can anyone suggest a solution to my mosquito problem?

Cover yourself from head to toe to minimize the attack- ie wear lose fitting full sleeved shirts and full pants. You may find some anti mosquito ointments/ repellents in the market. ( should be available if you have that many mosquitoes around).

Applying some coconut oil or soothing balm for bug bites may help. In the long run adding some mesh to doors and windows instead of keeping it all open may help. Or a mosquito net on the bed.

For some home remedies:

Edit: Don't let them breed near you- i.e. if there is some stagnant water being collected around your house - in a tank, in an old cooler or anything treat it or empty it.

There's a few things you should keep in mind if you are getting bit a lot by mosquitos:

1: Whatch what you eat- certain food attract mosquitos; bananas for one, will attract them

2: Small and still bodies of water-mosqitoes breed in water. Any small amounts of still water is ripe for Mosquito loving. This includes your sink, bath tub, even cups of water left out for a few days. Drain any othe these things to reduce the amount of Mosquitos near you.

3: Hot and Humid: if you can keep your living area cool and dry, they are less likely to frequent that particular area.

thats about all I got for you. Hope it helps.

Finally, someone helpful!

I actually (after taking those 30 bites) put on, like, 3 pajamas one over another and strapped my hands and feet into those big fluffy winter socks :lmao: It helped but its terrible to sleep in + they still catch some skin around the neck (which is even worse tbh)

I can't use the nets cuz my windows are weird but Im honestly thinking about improvising it in somehow. (Prolly nail it to a wall or smtn lol)

Do you know any acclaimed repelant manufacturer? Dont wanna waste money on more stuff that doesnt work. >_>

Those oitments are useful I'll fav that. Anyway, tnx for this post!

Tx4advice. I'm in a main city and there's defo no lakes in my neighborhood. Lol

The city is hot as hell tho. It hits 40° C like its nothing. Those suckers actually come looking for somewhere to cool down. Xd

I don't get bitten 30 times a day.
Must be your taxes. :sdo:

Mosquito repellent on the neck or any other open parts should help. I can name some brands like Odomas but not sure if those brands or products will be available in your country. For the machine we have "Good Knight" etc.

If you have no problem sealing the window more permanently then you can use a fixed mesh in a wooden frame nailed to the outside wall for windows, if your windows open inside.

Oh geez, 30 bites? Try using a mosquito net/canopy thing over your bed. You should probably take some Benadryl (or any other antihistamine) for the inflammation. You could try to use a cold pack (or ice) if the swelling or itching is really bad. I know it'll be difficult, but avoid scratching the bites because that will only exacerbate the inflammation and you could risk getting the bites infected by introducing bacteria to them from your finger nails... I've never had any issues with them indoors, but the preventative measures are the same: no still water, bright coloured clothes (though, this is probably more of an outdoor thing), avoid sugary substances etc. I know they have this sonic mosquito repellent thing, which might be a better alternative to using chemicals on yourself (sometimes when I go hiking, I apply the spray on my clothes rather than directly on my skin). I know you have been wearing more clothes, but the thing to keep in mind is that overheating yourself (plus all the sweat produced in the process) will only irritate your bites and worsen the symptoms...

I don't know how helpful this is or not, but I hope you find something that works for you soon! And keep an eye on those bites--make sure to clean and protect your skin! Use really mild, unscented products when washing.

Edit: There are also these mosquito-repelling candles that might be useful, but I would advise against (<--I forgot to include the word "against" lol) using them unattended if you are asleep. Seriously, good luck!

Edit: Also I just remembered, lavender (or lavender oil) can help repel mosquitoes too. At the very least, it will make everything smell nice and it could help you relax *_*
