Help me understand izanami

So I went back a few chapters (580) and see that Itachi sliced Kabuto's horn off on page 15. He then explains to Sasuke about Izanami in chapter 581 p15,p16 but in the bottom panel ,he tells Sasuke that the jitsu is prepared. As the fight progresses, Kabuto strikes itachi's sword and Itachi yells "Izanami". We see in chapter 586 that the loop starts were the horn is cut off. Is it safe to say that Itachi started Izanami before he explained it to Sasuke?

Izanami is the ability to decide a persons destiny by making them choose to do what you want them to. If they choose wrong then the caster will just restart the loop until the one under its spell picks the right choice. This ensures that they will not just do something else as soon as Izanami is lifted. Think of it like Inception. You plant an idea so far into the persons subconscious that they believe it was they're own idea like Kabuto eding Edo Tensei. It was Itachis idea but Kabuto will think it was his own so he won't do something different once Izanami is lifted. Does that make sense?

i also don't understand how izanami considered equal to izanagi that powerful? when i only see a looping picture in the mind wherein compared to izanagi that it can evade even death....

Except in Danzo's case....Danzo used Izanagi to change his own destiny from death to life with time restrictions. Izanami is a forever loop that only ends when the opponent does what you want them too? It seems to me that the jutsu Izanami is powered by the opponents arrogance.The more Kabuto believes he can win, the longer he will be trapped.

there is only i can tell that Izanami can't kill a person though it is powerful and sacrificed jutsu .
it is better to say about izanami "Repeat Destiny" instead of "Holding Destiny"(just for funny)
i am not sure about izanami true meaning so i can't tell u

I guess you'll be stuck in Izanami till one of you dies from old age. Since Itachi is Immortal until his body is sealed or Kabuto ends Edo Tensei then It looks like Kabuto's screwed.

my interpertation of it is that it decides the destiny of the target by causing them to be traped in a time loop untill the target makes the descion the caster has decided in the case of right now...kabuto's destiny is 2 undo edo tensei

I think it was prepared in the chapter when he says it to sasuke but not activated yet he was waiting for the right moment. It was activated in the recent chapter, its even in the name of the chapter "izanamis activation".

i understand. I was curious on why the loop started 6 chapters of action ago.i guess if it wasnt Naruto universe, the fight scene would be mare minutes and not 6 weeks!

Itachi doesn't have the luxury of time. Madara and Muu is still out there wrecking havoc.

Itachi's still able to speak in the real world. In the loop their fighting. But outside the loop their just standing there. Itachi with his hand on Kabuto (who looks like a standing vegetable).
