Hi NarutoBase, my name is Maynard Price, though I've gone by the handle 'draganviper' for over a decade. I'm a longtime fan and follower of Naruto, having started reading the manga when the first chapter was originally published in the monthly Shonen Jump here in the U.S. I've kept up to date all these years, and have also been active in the Naruto fanfiction community for a similarly long time. For some reason, it never occurred to me to sign up to a Naruto specific forum until now.
My goals for my membership here are two-fold:
1) To have interesting discussions about the series with people who are knowledgeable and passionate on the subject. Generally speaking, I've had a difficult time meeting people in person who happen to be big enough Naruto fans to hold more than a casual conversation about surface elements with, so I figure it's best to go directly to where such people hang out.
2) As a game developer and fanfiction author, I wish to improve my ability to RP with a focus on convincing and enjoyable combat scenes. It occurred to me that the most effective way to learn how to write combat scenes that really 'sell' to the readers would be if I was writing a character to fight another character who I couldn't 'force a hit' on without it really being the logical outcome. There's only really one way to 'train' my writing skills in that specific way that I'm aware of, so here I am.
If anyone has any questions for me I'll be happy to answer them! I'm excited to become part of the large and vibrant Naruto community that I've had the opportunity to observe during the excruciatingly long 24 hours I've had to wait to make my first post
