Alright, this chapter picks up directly after the last one. So, to make things less confusing, you should probably read it firstxd Oh, and since this chapter gives the rest of the background stories for the main supporting characters, I just added the poll in as a bit of an experiment (the first three are all in Chapter 3). Please do give an answer when you’re done reading if you can:D Enjoy:)

Assaulting a Prince

The sound of this new, ominous voice brought my blood to a freezing point. …It wasn’t until I heard the indifference in Carmine’s voice that I myself found the courage to turn around. The voice had undoubtedly come from a demon, but this one was far more different than those standing around us, …each of whom, to my great surprise, were down on their knees.

“So, …this is one of the seven Princes…and judging from his size, …I’d wager that this is-”

“Hey, your bloatedness! Who would’ve thought that we’d run into the demon of gluttony in the cafet-?”

…Another new voice had appeared at the opposite end of the table, …though it was quickly silenced as Louis reached his hand over to smack this newcomer on the back of his head.

“Sean, do yourself a favor and shut the hell up. …You know damn well what will happen if you piss off Beelzebub like that.”

My eyes widened slightly as Ivan whispered the unspoken answer into my ear.

“He’ll eat you…slowly.”

A fitting punishment to be carried out by someone with such repute, I suppose, …though it still caused me to shiver violently.

“Heehee, would you look at that? Fresh meat to gorge myself on later.”

He took notice to me for the first time. …I can honestly say that my own death was far less terrifying an experience. Thankfully, he must have been eyeing me for no more than forty seconds before he redirected his attention somewhere else.

“Beelzebub, for the love of Shaitan, step your fat ass away from the trash. …Surely, you can find something edible in this pit that’s more worth your while.”

Yet another sinister voice appeared, …only this one was so much more…amorous.

“Asmodeus, ...what the hell are you doing here!?”

“Oh? I didn’t realize I was restricted from the livestock during feeding time. …If you really must know, it’s that hour of the day for me…and one of these lovely little morsels is going to…help me through it.”

“Ugghh, ...I’ll never understand what makes your standards so low, ...but I suppose that’s to be expected from the demon of lust, heeheeheeheehee. ...Well then, I suppose I might as well find a little morsel of my own.”

With that said, Beelzebub exited the room just as he had entered, …though not before grabbing a random man by his arm and dragging him screaming across the floor as he departed, earning him a small chuckle from his counterpart.

“Huhhh, and just after telling him to find something else. …You be sure to chew now, Beelzebub! …Now then, which of these women will be helping to relieve me of my…loneliness today?”

At the time, unaware that there were women seated at the other end of our table, I immediately considered this an insult on Asmodeus’s part. His appearance being far less intimidating than that of Beelzebub, I was prepared to match his words, only to realize that he was walking in their direction. …Reconsidering my intended actions, …this was probably for the better.

“Hey, you look like a young, little skank, what with that makeup smeared all over your face. You probably wouldn’t mind if I took you here and now, now wouldn’t you?”

The look on the young girl’s face as he taunted her was one of sheer terror, pure misery, …and utter disdain, …as if all her emotions were gradually losing balance and control. …Her face also showed signs of disbelief, as if she was unconvinced that this was truly happening to her, …similar to the feelings I originally possessed upon my arrival. Had he not turned his attention to the only other woman at the table, …I can only imagine what she would have done.

“Hmhmhmhmhm, well then, how about you, bitch? You used to be a *****, right? Come on, everyone knows, so don’t try and deny it. I shouldn’t even have to ASK you if you'll lend me YOUR body.”

I’d have said that she was on the verge of tears…if they weren’t already falling from her face. Her reaction was proof enough that the claims Asmodeus was making were true.

“Asmodeus, please. ...Can’t you look for-?”

“What!? …And why would I do that? There’s no way I’ll find another ***** who’s anywhere NEAR as eager to start as you are.”

I was quickly becoming sickened by his malicious effort to dishearten this poor soul, who looked to have been hardly out of her third decade of life…when it ended, that is.

“…Well, I’d say I’ve made my choice. …Hmhmhmhm, and since she’s so raring to go, …we’ll go ahead and get started now, how’s that?”

He kneeled over and threw his arm around her waist, lifting her out of her seat with little effort, …all the while she couldn’t stop screaming at the onlooking crowd.

“AAAAAHHH!!! SOMEBODY, PLEASE!! HEEEELLLP!!”

“Oh, quit hiding it, bitch! You’re just as aroused as I am!”

“HEY!!”

I’d had enough of this. In one fell swoop, I had leaped out across the table before Ivan could stop me and jumped on top of the demon as he began walking in the opposite direction. As the woman fell from beneath his arm, so did he to the floor. …I was now ramming my fists against the face of one of the seven Princes of Hell…and I was enjoying every second of it. I could hear people getting up out of their seats all around me, as well as a short argument occurring between Ivan and Louis.

“Damn it, Louis! Do you have any idea what they’re going to do to him once they get ahold of him!?”

“…Yes, …I do, Ivan. …But he’s already started now, so the least he can do is get in as many punches as he can.

“Hey, guys! …What’s that sound?”

That last remark from Carmine finally got me to stop my assault. I looked around to find out what he was talking about, …only becoming more confused when I identified the sound.

“Is that…running water?”

I stood up to get a better view, only to leap back as the demon lying on the ground before me burst into flames. I almost smirked at the mere sight of it, stopping only when the flames cleared…and I realized that nothing remained of Asmodeus, …no form of ash or dust whatsoever. I looked back at Ivan for answers, only to have my attention drawn towards the door, …where the demon I had supposedly just seen die was standing in the center of yet another tower of flames. …My eyes widened slightly, …opening even wider when I saw that he was closing the doors and locking them.

“Hmhmhmhmhm, …not quite.”

I turned around to find that all the demons in the cafeteria had disappeared through the door on the other end of the room, the last of them repeating Asmodeus’s actions. Seconds later, water began falling from the sprinklers scattered across the ceiling. I held my hand out in front of me and allowed it to fill it up, wondering exactly what the point of locking us inside this room was. …The emerging screams of several people throughout the room caused me to look away…and when I looked back, what I had originally believed to be water…had melted through my hand.

“…Acid.”

I began eyeing the rest of my body, only to find that it was suffering the same effects. …As the feeling of pain entered my thoughts, I threw my head back to scream, …though I never got the chance before the corrosive liquid began melting through my chest. …I died just before it could begin eating at my heart.

When I came to, I was just as dazed and confused as I was when I arrived. I originally believed myself to be back in that small dungeon of a room, …though I quickly realized that wasn’t the case. Looking around, I found that I wasn’t alone. At least ten others were also stuck inside this room, which was hardly any bigger than the room I now called mine, …though the ceiling was at least twice as high. Wondering for a moment exactly where I was and why, the sound of an opening door caused me to look in that direction, …where stood an all-too familiar figure.

“So, you’ve finally come to, have you?”

I stood up and looked him dead in the eye, showing him that I wasn’t about to forget just how easy it was to bring him to the floor. …He merely scowled in response before placing his hand on the door.

“Huh, …little bastard. We’re not even close to being even. …Best be reassured. You’ve got MUCH more coming your way after that shit you just pulled.”

Leaving me with this promise in mind, he slammed the door behind him, …which triggered yet another noise. For a moment, I couldn’t exactly point out where it was coming from, …then I realized the source was resting above my head…and closing in, slowly but surely. …In all honesty, though, after dying three times in near consensus, I was left with only one other thought in mind.

“…Okay, …that’s certainly gonna hurt.”

Knowing that it was pointless to run frantically around in what little space we had to move, as my colleagues were doing, I returned to my original position on the floor, trying to flatten myself out as much as possible in hopes that it would minimalize the pain when the ceiling finally fell upon us. …I was wrong.

Waking up on that small mattress for the second time today, I rested my back against the wall and buried my head into my arms, which were rested on my knees. It was an odd sensation, having gone through death once again, …one that, for some reason, always left the same questions stuck inside my head.

“…How did I get here? …What am I here for? …Is this really the fate I earned for myself in life?”

After reminding myself of the answers to these questions, my door began to open, just as it had been done by Ivan no more than what seemed like hours ago. …This time, though, it was Louis who decided to visit my quarters.

“Well, …THAT was certainly entertaining. I don’t remember a time I was here when someone had the nerve to assault one of the seven Princes, let alone that man-***** of a demon Asmodeus.”

I chuckled silently to myself in reaction to the remark. At that moment, something more important suddenly reentered my mind, …which Louis had apparently read.

“Scarlett.”

“…Huh?”

“Her name, …it’s Scarlett Clementine. …And yes, she was a prostitute, as Asmodeus so gleefully made known to everyone. …She died about four years ago in England at the hands of one of her more frequent customers, if I remember correctly. …Not exactly easy for a woman with her…profession to attend church, I suppose.”

“…That’s probably true. …Is she alright?”

“…Well, …needless to say, she probably preferred the acid rain to Asmodeus’s…you know. …She is grateful, though. She’s in her own room now, I think.”

“…Good. …Who were the other two at our table, …that other girl and the guy you told to shut up.”

“Hm? …Oh, yes. The boy’s name is Sean Barton. Typical black delinquent, raised in Detroit, killed in a drive-by shooting in his early twenties. …He’s actually a rather kind boy, …rather short-tempered, though. You might find Satan trailing him at times because of that.”

“…Demon of wrath.”

“Yeah, that’s him.”

“…Is he…regretful?”

“We wouldn’t sit with them if he wasn’t. We try to keep together in that respect. …Most of his concern actually lies with his mother, though, always worried about the day she dies and finds out that he’s not waiting for her in Heaven.”

“…I know the feeling.”

“And the girl?”

“…Her name’s Violet Rosetta. She was a little younger than you are now when she died, …which I think was about a year ago. …Joyriding with some friends, I think she said.”

“…Typical rebellious teenage girl?”

“Hmph, and as stubborn as the rest of them. She makes the same claims that you do, saying how she attended church sometimes and shouldn’t be here, …though her story’s not nearly as easy to believe.”

“…Pitiful. I might have to speak with her about that myself.”

During this conversation, I suddenly remembered exactly who I was talking to…and what Ivan told me that he had done.

“Louis.”

“Hm?”

“…Did you really try to escape four times?”

“…Hmhmhm, I was beginning to wonder when you might return to this subject. …Yes, it’s true.”

“How did you do it? I mean, what exactly did you have to do?”

“Hmmmm, …these questions might be better answered by the man who answered them for me.”

Having been lean against the rim of the tub the entire time, he pushed himself up off of it before heading out the door, prompting me to get up, as well.

“Come. I’ll introduce you to him.”

We must have been walking for nearly forty minutes before we finally stopped in front of one of the numerous doors, each identical to the last.

“How the hell do you remember where all of these are?”

“…You learn with time, I suppose.”

“Oh, and I guess I should ask now before it’s too late, uh, …what kind of person is he?”

“…Hmhm, don’t you worry, my friend. …You should be able to identify him for yourself.”

“I…I know him?”

“Not personally, of course, but…anyone who has read a history book should know who he is…and be not at all surprised that he’s in Hell.”

“…A tyrant?”

“…One of the worst.”

The answer I was searching for entered my mind almost instanteously…and I quickly removed my hand from the door handle.

“No, …I can’t go in there.”

“…Very well, then. I’ll go first, how is that?”

I nodded to him in an almost inept manner…and, in complete contrast to what I had done earlier, Louis opened the door and walked inside without a moment’s hesitation. He was greeted by another unfamiliar voice…with a thick German accent.

“Louis, it’s been a while since you came to visit. Leonard and I were just talking about you and how persistent you are.”

“Hmhmhmhm, I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“Oh ho, you’d do well to, my boy. …Is there someone…else you were…wanting me to meet?”

“Hm?”

He must have turned around and realized that I had not entered the room, …shaking his head and smirking, if I had to guess.

“Justin, it’s quite alright, I assure you. …Sorry, my friend. He must have guessed who you were before I could tell him.”

“Hmhm, must be so. …No need to worry, lad. …God knows I’m used to this.”

After what must have been at least eight minutes, I reappeared in front of the doorway and walked inside, not once blinking my eyes as they looked into those of the man now sitting before me. …I almost found it hard to believe that I was now in his presence, even taking into account where I was, …but simultaneously, Louis turned out to be right. …After all, who in their right mind would be shocked that Adolf Hitler was in Hell?

- The End -

Just on a side note there, I chose Hitler exactly for the reason stated in that final question. I don’t think too many people would argue otherwisexd Thanks for reading up to this point, guys, and I’ll try to get the next one out as soon as possible:) Spoiler: I explain exactly what Hell is like in the Hellhound-verse and why it’s actually called Hellhound:D

I'd love trying that, but unfortunately, I can never find photos that really help visualize the setting I'm trying to depictU_U But, the best books in the world have no pictures, so it's all good with mexd Thanks, man:)

It's actually debatable as to whether or not Hitler was the 'worst tyrant'. (He was bad, but he has rivals).

Still, nice job. The idea of the seven princes is interesting.

Probably, but in modern times, I doubt he has any close rivals (Caesar and Nero might compare, but Stalin and Hussein are hardly any competition to what he did). And the seven Princes of Hell is another idea I took from demonology:) Thanks, man:D

Actually, Stalin killed more people. I just learned that last year myself. It's interesting to look into.
